Coordination & Support • Work closely with electrical engineers and automation engineers to interpret design requirements, schematics, and specification inputs. • Support design reviews by preparing updated CAD deliverables and incorporating feedback from multidisciplinary teams. • Communicate technical questions and suggestions clearly to engineering staff to resolve drawing ambiguities. Education/Certification Requirements: • Demonstrated experience producing shipboard electrical power and control schematics and related technical drawings. • Strong proficiency in 2D CAD software, such as AutoCAD or equivalent, with a track record of producing high-quality electrical schematic and detail drawings. • Solid understanding of drafting standards and practices, including effective layer management, line types, plotting, use of viewports, and drawing to scale. • Ability to produce clear, consistent, and well-organized electrical drawings that support construction and installation activities. Preferred • Hands-on experience or familiarity with PLCs and associated hardware, including schematic development for inputs, outputs, power, and control interfaces. • Background working in marine or industrial environments with multidisciplinary engineering teams. • Familiarity with electrical schematic conventions used for power distribution, control logic, and automation documentation.

Documents project hours and revisions. * Monitor progress of design elements, meet assigned deadlines for each phase of a project, and keep supervisor informed of changes to the deadline. * Record, document, and organize core elements of major design projects such as specs (colors, fonts, size, materials), digital assets, working files, print ready files, photo documentation of completed items. * Prepare creative briefs for cost estimates and bids and collaborate with vendors for outsourced projects as needed. * Attend or coordinate design and production meetings as needed. * Assist with planning, construction, and installation of elements designed, as requested or necessary. * This is an on-site position located in Williamsburg, VA.
