The RoleWe are seeking a Senior Algorithm Development Engineer to join the European business arm of SSS System Solutions. Reporting to the Computer Vision and Artificial Intelligence Lead, you will develop computer vision and AI algorithms for a variety of applications. You will select neural models and image processing pipelines suitable for deployment onto edge devices.You will work with various technical managers to understand customer requirements and propose suitable CV/AI pipelines to meet the needs of the target application and its use cases. You will develop these algorithms, including selection of models and training sets and work closely with embedded software and FPGA engineers to optimise the proposed pipelines for embedded deployment. You willalso contribute towards benchmarking and evaluating implementations both on PC and embedded platforms and ensure that the proposed solution meets the required performance.You are expected to thoroughly document your proposals, processes, methods, sources and results for each project.You will be working with cross-functional teams and multi-cultural teams both in Europe and Japan.

About you You are of a graduate calibre with a PhD in Engineering or Computer Science. You will have a strong academic understanding of the fundamentals of computer vision and AI (filtering, feature extraction, pattern recognition, machine learning, object tracking, deep neural networks).You have hands-on experience of classical image processing techniques for feature extraction in Python, MatLab or C/C++. You also have experience of applying CV and AI algorithms over a range of use cases (object detection and tracking).You are versed in the use of TensorFlow, TensorFlow Lite and/or PyTorch for the implementation of machine learning algorithms and have applied your skills for at least 2 years.It would be highly beneficial, though not strictly required, if you are also experienced in the deployment of CV and AI algorithms onto embedded platforms.You are expected to at least have an appreciation and understanding of the constraints imposed by running algorithms on edge devices.You're culturally sensitive and able to work remotely and cross functionally using English as the business language - someone who can bring teams together to ensure the best solution is achieved.Add to that enthusiasm for technology plus a pragmatic attitude to deliver and you could go a very long way here.

As a Sr. Development Product Engineer you will be a part of a development team for new mixed signal products in our Magnetic Sensor portfolio. You will be a key person in design, development, and implementation of test and characterization solutions for a given product. You will act as the central test resource as products move through the development cycle all the way into high volume production. You will be a key representative of test in an interdisciplinary team.
Your responsibilities include
Design of new methods to establish product performance and ensure testability Definition of test and validation plan to reach the target test coverage and test time Development, debugging and documenting complex test software and hardware for ATEParticipation in new design troubleshooting and providing recommendations to the rest of the team Analysis of test and characterization data, including statistical analysis Test program optimization and robustness studies Knowledge transfer to manufacturing engineering Results analysis during reliability studies

Qualification and requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical EngineeringMinimum of 5 years of related experience, ideally involving IC the test Working knowledge of analog/digital circuit design Knowledge of lab equipment Experience of software development, ideally C/C++ATE experience, Teradyne ETS preferable

The Senior Development Engineer validates and scales up new products/processes for the Materion EM (Electronic Material) Technology and Innovation (T&I equivalent to R&D) team. The Senior Development Engineer is responsible for the coordination of the design and development of new and improved manufacturing processes and ensuring support of the efficient and effective transfer of new processes/products into production; and for improvements to existing processes within New Product Development projects.

You will have the opportunity to:
Validate and scale up new product processes in conjunction with the T&I Development team, Process Engineering and Operations.Scope, identify and deliver technical requirements of required equipment for new product development, scale-up and process improvements. Prepare, schedule, coordinate and monitor of multiple assigned projects with proper documentation and communication to the broader team. Design new product processes for safety, quality, and manufacturability.Mentor junior development engineers and T&I technicians in the requirements for robust and scalable processes.Serve as a bridge between new product creation and transition to Operations for a robust and reliable process. Up to 15% travel may be required based on business need.

REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor of Science or advanced degree in Chemical Engineering, Ph.D. preferred.3-5 years experience in chemical manufacturing is preferred but not required.Must be willing to perform hands-on work in a pilot plant setting.Experience in inorganic chemical synthesis and material handling preferred.Demonstrated knowledge and experience in scaling up new process/product from R&D to volume manufacturing.
