Opportunity at a Glance
The SeniorDirector of Regulatory Affairs is responsible for assuring that all divisions comply with applicable federal, state and provincial education laws and regulations in order to establish and maintain continuous operating approvals. Leading multiple teams, the SeniorDirector drives compliant implementation and maintenance of applicable higher education requirements in Adtalem operations and uses a consultative mindset to provide regulatory guidance to support institutional strategy. The SeniorDirector also leads organizational efforts to develop and influence regulatory policy which impacts the delivery of higher education instruction and services.
Responsibilities
Leads and motivates the Regulatory Research, Compliance Review, Regulatory Strategy and Reporting teams of Regulatory Affairs colleagues, achieving strategic and compliance objectives of the organization.
Collaborates with institution and business leaders, as well as peers in Regulatory Affairs, Internal Audit and Legal, to drive continual process and quality improvement. Instills these same focused values in all colleagues.
Monitors operations in all departments/functions to ensure compliance with federal and state/provincial higher education-related laws and regulations and organizational and divisional policies.
Establishes working relationships with operating managers to assess the viability of their compliance functions, and educate operating units as to the essential components of a strong compliance program.
Coordinates the compilation and synthesis of reporting for the quarterly Regulatory Compliance and Quality Assurance reviews with each of the institutions. Is responsible for review logistics, including establishing the meetings, compilation and distribution of the quarterly summaries, coordinating resources to accomplish items assigned and monitoring progress of all action items.
Recommends business practice changes to improve compliance with higher education laws and regulations.
Ensures that corrections in the areas of non-compliance are made timely and accurately.
In coordination with the appropriate organization managers, reviews proposed process changes (including system requirements) to ensure they are in compliance with higher education-related federal and state/provincial laws and regulations and corporate and divisional requirements in the areas of academics, career services, enrollment management, state and provincial licensing, student finance, and student services.
Immediately reports areas of concern to the VP, Sr. Associate General Counsel and develops correction action plans and appropriate training requirements.
Utilizing both internal and external resources, supports efforts to influence federal and state regulation development. Serves as a resource for Adtalem's Government Relations team on legislative matters related to institutions of higher education.
Develops and maintains relationships with public policy organizations influential with higher education regulation.
Provides support in the due diligence compliance assessment activities for federal, state and provincial laws and regulations in merger and acquisition activity.
Supports internal and external audits for Title IV compliance and nonfinancial external reporting.
Completes other duties as assigned.
Complies with all policies and standards
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree required, Master's Degree preferred.
Minimum 10 years experience in a heavily regulated environment; preferably within post-secondary education required. Title IV compliance experience preferred.
At least 5 years of supervisory experience.
Must be familiar with the standards and requirements of the U.S. Department of Education, multiple state authorizing agencies and programmatic accreditors.
Must possess strong critical thinking skills to decipher regulatory requirements that may not be explicit.
Demonstrated ability to establish and develop positive relationships with senior leaders and external agencies.
Strong interpersonal, organizational, writing, editing, and computer skills are required.
Strong understanding of federal Title IV regulations.

In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected salary range for this position is between $137,846.78 and $241,870.90. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility. Summary of Position

The annual rate of pay for this position ranges from $229,600 - $350,000. For non-exempt roles, and according to applicable regulations, there may be the possibility for overtime pay. Qualifications and Requirements
Bachelor\'s degree in accounting or another related field, or equivalent work experience, required.
A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in accounting or another related field required.
Current CPA, or other accounting license preferred.
Supervisory/management experience required.
Nonprofit experience highly desired.
Excellent math skills.
Strong accounting, analytical, and research skills.
Strong knowledge of the revenue recognition cycle in a not-for-profit organization, general accounting, and financial reporting experience required.
Strong knowledge of GAAP including as it relates to revenue recognition.
Proficiency with modern accounting software preferred.
Ability to lead and guide staff to meet department and organizational goals.
Strong knowledge of staff management practices. Flexible, willing to learn, and anticipates the needs of self and staff.
Ability to set a positive tone for employees during their day.
Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with frequent deadlines; high energy, self-motivated and proactive.
Ability to manage issues requiring problem resolution and conflict management with excellent interpersonal and intervention skills.

About The Role
In FTI Consulting's Dispute Advisory Services (DAS) segment, we focus on providing expert testimony, litigation consulting, forensic accounting, economic and damages analyses in numerous types of litigated matters, including some of the highest-profile lawsuits of recent years. Clients benefit from our expertise in many specialized areas, working directly with our professionals or with our large network of industry and academic experts.
We are frequently engaged by clients in highly regulated industries, including technology, financial services, healthcare, oil and gas, and energy to support our clients on complex disputes and investigations that require a multidisciplinary approach to dispute resolution.
What You'll Do
Supervise and perform day-to-day activities in support of forensic and litigation consulting projects including interaction with other FTI team members, client personnel, and professionals from other firms involved in the engagement.
Perform technical, industry, and litigation related research. Develop work plans and execute analyses to assess complex unstructured problems, assist in preparing expert reports and exhibits summarizing findings that will be delivered to clients and other parties.
Apply econometric, financial, and analytical skills to legal issues and conduct detailed analyses.
Prepare written reports, exhibits, and presentations reflecting sources of information, assumptions, methodologies, and results of all analyses.
Supervise more junior team members' analyses.
Manage work with different experts and team members in multiple domains and industries throughout FTI globally.
Work with Senior Managing Directors on practice management and business development efforts.

What You Will Need to Succeed
Basic Qualifications
Advanced degree in finance, economics, business or related field.
5+ years of experience with financial, economic or econometric analysis.
A strong understanding of securities markets (equity, fixed income, derivatives) and methods of securities analyses.
Experience with analyzing large securities markets datasets is a plus.
Strong experience with solving complex problems or conducting complex analyses within the securities industry and financial markets.
Strong analytical skills, including data analysis and econometrics skills, and exceptional eye for detail and accuracy.
Strong expert report writing skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and experience working with a range of internal staff members and external contacts.
Ability to travel to clients and FTI office(s) as needed.
