POSITION OVERVIEW

Prepares clear, complete and accurate product and/or part drawings from rough or detailed sketches, customer order specifications or notes by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Must be capable of reading customer architectural and mechanical plans.

Uses computer aided drafting (CAD) software to create drawings for customer and manufacturing processes. Drawings are based on designs and sketches provided by engineers or more experienced staff.

Must be capable of reading and understanding customer requirements in the form of quotations and specifications and applying applicable Ruskin (CAD) details.

Must have working knowledge of drafting fundamentals including orthographic views, standard dimensioning practices, scaling plus English and metric units of measure.

Creates drawings involving checking dimensions of parts, documenting materials to be used, verifying form, fit and function of parts in assemblies.

Follows direction and is capable of learning Ruskin drafting standards.

Has a working knowledge of manufacturing processes, machines and various building materials.

Must be capable of mentoring others.

Must be capable of verifying the work of others.

Must be capable of developing and documenting drafting standards with an understanding of efficiency and financial impact.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

COMPUTER SKILLS

Required knowledge / experience in MS Office and email using MS Windows platform; AutoCad (applicable release), Inventor or other solid modeling software.

Job Description:

Team provides cross functional support to the National Air and Space Intelligence Center. This diverse team includes providing services in network hardware support, physical and virtual servers, help desk support, systems administration, IT infrastructure installation and maintenance, and storage and backup administration support.

RESPONSIBLITIES:

* Document network, systems, storage, and other networked equipment while meeting NASIC, NSA, AF, and other applicable government standards. The network diagrams shall be created and maintained with government approved. CAD. Network topology diagram shall include network segments, port assignment, WAN configuration, VLAN, patch panel, etc.), routers, switches, firewalls connecting the various segments, servers, gateways, and other major pieces of networking hardware.
* Verify documentation is accurate with network engineers internal and external to NASIC.
* Coordinate with NASIC LG & SC to capture power, cooling, etc. that pertains to the system. Rack elevations shall identify power consumption and power capacity.

OPERATING HOURS AND EXPECTATIONS:This is a full time position, with standard operating hours Monday - Friday, unless otherwise discussed with management.

TRAVEL:Position does not require travel.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

* Have recent and relevant expertise (a minimum seven years' experience in CAD design) in network documentation and shall have experience with MS Visio and DWG TrueView.

Job Summary:

KDM Engineering is seeking a self-motivated drafter who will prepare clear, complete and accurate detailed drawings using AutoCAD from field sketches, original drawings or satellite images, mark-ups, existing as-builts, site maps, photos, and field notes. A drafter will be designing drawings using AutoCAD applying engineering standards and specifications. It is expected that the drafter will complete drawing packages in a timely manner using personal knowledge and exercising discretion and judgement to maintain a high level of quality, accuracy, and professionalism, and acute attention to detail.

Job Requirements

* 10 years experience
* Associate of Applied Science degree (AAS) and Certification in AutoCAD or the equivalent education or experience.
* Design knowledge of electrical utility and engineering is a plus
* Ability to communicate effectively and clearly, both verbally and in written form
* Comfortable in a self-directed environment
* Detail oriented, organized, able to multitask, prioritize and meet deadlines
* Be a self-starter, ability to perform duties with limited supervision and be a cooperative team player.
* Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities

* Analyze client requests/engineering sketches
