Key Responsibilities Component Selection and Standardization Develop and maintain component requirements, specifications, and screening processes tailored for high-reliability, space-qualified, or military-grade hardware used in Laser Communication Systems. Manage the selection, qualification, and approval of new EEE components, ensuring full compliance with technical requirements for high-frequency electronics (RF, MMIC, high-speed digital). Serve as the EEE technical liaison between design engineers, procurement, and quality teams throughout the product lifecycle, from proposal to production. Maintain and update the master ECAD library and Parts Management Database, ensuring data integrity and standardization across the program. Why This Role Matters Pacific Fusion is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer within the Pulsed Power engineering group to support the development and operation of high-voltage, high-precision pulsed systems critical to fusion research. What You'll Do Design, implement, and troubleshoot high-voltage pulsed systems (up to 5kV) for diagnostic timing and triggering applications. Develop and validate timing synchronization systems with sub-nanosecond precision across complex experimental setups. Collaborate with scientists and engineers to integrate pulsed systems into larger diagnostic platforms. Support hands-on testing, field deployment, and system maintenance, including troubleshooting and upgrades. Document system designs, test procedures, and operational practices for pulsed power systems. What You Bring B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or related field. 5+ years of hands on experience with an ability to work autonomously. Strong understanding of pulsed electronics, time-domain systems, or RF systems with time-domain applications. Hands-on experience with high-voltage test equipment, signal generators, oscilloscopes, and fast diagnostics. This includes but not limited to: Develops scope of work and cost estimates for the deliverables Develops and executes implementation plans for the project Assigns work to meet overall project deadlines Ensures that all project team members clearly understand the scope of W-M responsibilities and deliver quality output Develop schedules for WM and customer requirements Evaluate progress on projects and details changes Responsible for all purchasing and subcontractor requirements Responsible for the development of costs and proposal of change orders to contract scope Minimum Requirements Education A Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology or equivalent experience is required. Interest in progressing to a PE license will be supported. Experience 10 years of experience with capabilities in below areas: Preparation of electrical, instrumentation, and PLC control panel specifications for purchase of materials and equipment and/or the solicitations of labor Experience in design of electrical schematics, including power distribution 480VAC and under Experience in the installation, checkout, and commissioning of electrical, instruments, and control systems Knowledge of the NEC and associated national, state and local code requirements; includes hazardous area requirements Familiar with construction, installation, maintenance, support, documentation, and testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and customer requirements Familiar with construction and installation standards and specifications for use by electrical contractors Document and organize projects according to established procedures using various tools including computer software such as CAD, Excel, and Visual Manufacturing Review of fabricator and external design drawings, documentation and fabrication sequence Provide cost estimates for electrical controls according to established guidelines Monitor status and ensure delivery of project deliverables within budgeted cost and schedule Experience in industries such as Life Sciences, Building Automation, Food and Beverage, Oil & Gas and Mining Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills needed. Ability to communicate and work with both team members, subcontractors and clients Experience with PLC programming is preferred Experience with AutoCAD is desired Professional references, preferably one from each of the following: a subordinate, a peer, and a manager Ability to travel up to 25% Physical Demands of Position Seeing, color perception, hearing, clear speech, dexterity in hands, driving, lifting, ability to mount/dismount equipment, pushing and pulling.
