NATURE OF WORK
This is skilled work in the maintenance, repair, installation and troubleshooting of various types of electric metering equipment, street lighting, electric services, lift stations, civil defense sirens, traffic signals, transformers, substations, and related equipment.
Work involves proficiency in several related utility service areas, with working conditions and degree of supervision differing according to the nature of the job assignment. The incumbent exercises technical independence in determining work methods and procedures and exercises considerable independent judgment in applying standard trade practices to the assigned task. Work is reviewed for adherence to established trade standards. Supervision of others is exercised in the absence of the technical supervisor. Supervision is received from an administrative superior.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
