Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:
Electrical Design and Analysis
Perform basic and detailed design of HV substations and transmission lines, including electrical studies, calculations, and system analysis.
Conduct short-circuit studies, grounding grid calculations, insulation coordination, lightning protection analysis, and instrument transformer loading assessments.
Develop and review protection coordination studies and relay settings.
Ensure interconnection and grid code compliance (reactive power, short-circuit levels, and power quality).
Line and System Engineering
Prepare technical reports and perform electrical and mechanical calculations for overhead and underground lines, including conductor sizing and auxiliary systems (AC/DC).
Conduct route selection, feasibility, and techno-economic studies for HV transmission lines.
Drawings and Diagrams
Develop single-line diagrams (SLDs), protection and control SLDs, wiring and communication diagrams, and signal lists.
Prepare interlocking logic, communication architectures, and detailed schematics for protection and control systems.
Coordination and Review
Coordinate with civil and structural teams on substation and transmission line design requirements.
Review and provide technical feedback on engineering documentation prepared by subcontractors or external consultants.
Review Owner's Requirements, contractual specifications, and ensure design compliance with applicable standards (IEEE, IEC, ANSI, NFPA, NEC, NESC, etc.).
Technical Documentation and Procurement Support
Prepare detailed technical specifications, Bill of Quantities (BoQ), and design deliverables for procurement and construction.
Conduct technical assessments and validations of HV equipment, materials, and system supplies (e.g., transformers, breakers, switchgear, towers).
Interface and Stakeholder Management
Manage interfaces between HV and PV plant designs across electrical, civil, structural, and instrumentation disciplines.
Participate in meetings with the Owner's Engineer and other project stakeholders to ensure technical alignment.
Hold meetings with suppliers for technical evaluation, clarification, and equipment selection.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in ElectricalEngineering, Power Systems focus preferred.
2+ years of experience in HV engineering, preferably within the renewable energy, transmission, or utility industries.

The Role:
Your work will include, but not be limited to:
Designing, developing, and troubleshooting all aspects of factory based electrical control systems, equipment, and machinery
Familiar with and knowledge of installation, programming, and providing technical support of PLC based hardware and software, such as Allen Bradley systems

Key Responsibilities:
Proposal Development
Support project teams by identifying sales opportunities, developing proposals, and assisting in closing new contracts.
Create detailed proposals including material and equipment pricing, vendor/subcontractor quotes, manpower estimates, project phasing, duration, and customer RFP requirements.
General
Participate in meetings, site walks, and calls while maintaining clear communication between Quantum and customers.
Define project specifications by reviewing existing designs, customer requirements, and performance standards.
Identify project phases and responsibilities, communicating requirements to contractors for accurate bids. Ensure on-time delivery of design documents, product performance details, and construction feasibility.
Support overall team success by contributing to project deliverables and problem-solving initiatives.
Design and Procurement
Generate and review engineering documents for completeness, scope compliance, and cost efficiency; analyze cost comparisons and collaborate with construction teams to implement time and cost saving practices.
Ensure timely, contract compliant delivery of technical data packages; coordinate design completion dates with engineering and assist project managers with delivery.
Construction
Provide technical leadership and training across Electrical trades
Participate in construction kick-off meetings and support the project manager in managing design changes and deviations.
Recommend process improvements to boost efficiency and reduce costs.
Oversee project planning documents including coordinating procurement of electrical equipment and technical materials, delivery scheduling, and assisting with technical knowledge, logistics and cost management.
Monitor project progress to maintain schedule, coordinating activities and resolving issues quickly to keep projects on track.
Project Close Out
Oversees the translation of project “red-line” drawings to as-built construction documents
Ensure delivery of software backups and/or other digital project media to client

Responsible for tasks assigned by Coordinators in connection with service orders and repair activities related to Category 6 cabling, Voice over IP networks (VOIP), and fiber optic cabling infrastructure.
Installs, maintains and repairs voice and data communications systems.
Interprets service orders, circuit diagrams, and electrical schematics.
Tests, locates, installs, and repairs cabling infrastructure associated with trouble calls, and performs routine maintenance.
Verifies work order information and receipt of all necessary equipment and information.
Verifies service by testing installed cabling, identifying, correcting, or escalating problems.
Well versed in the use of network cabling test equipment including network testers, copper cable testers, fiber OTDRs and fiber power meters.
Documents network by labeling and routing equipment and cables; recording configuration diagrams and specifications.
Maintains network by troubleshooting and repairing outages; testing network back-up procedures; updating documentation.
Identify, track and remove abandoned cable, and keep cable neatly tied and bundled while maintaining safety standards.
Dress, terminate and test cables and components including CAT6 and fiber optic cabling.
Must follow JSP and commercial best practice procedures, standards required for installation of cable racks, wiring of the racks and testing required during installation.
