Our preferred candidate for Electrical Engineer - Industrial Automation is successful in implementing automation system projects by understanding customer requirements, product line needs, and control system architecture. Responsibilities: The current job is the implementation of the new Zetron system in Delta's OCC (Operations and Customer Center) and the installation of the Zetron media dock component in the RCC (Reliability Center). Zetron is the air to ground radio and phone system used by the OCC and ATL Radio. The project is in two locations. At the RCC, the contractors will be removing the current and installing the new peripherals, as well as doing the necessary cable management and hookup of the new peripherals to the Zetron media dock. At the OCC, the work consists of deinstallation of current Zetron at 199 positions and the subsequent installation of the new system at 225 positions. The schedule of work in the OCC will depend on the final cutover plan to be determined in the next two weeks. It is currently planned as 8 hour shifts, 5 days per week, working a rotating schedule Sunday through Saturday; the start times are unknown currently but likely to be 0600.

Position Overview The Controls Engineer will design, test, and commission custom switchgear and generator control systems. This role is a backfill position and involves executing and supporting the design, testing, manufacturing, and commissioning of low and medium voltage switchgear that controls multiple generators. The engineer will work alongside a team of 5-8 engineers and report to the Engineering Manager in an office/air-conditioned manufacturing facility. Job Responsibilities Execute and support the design, test, manufacture, and commissioning of low and medium voltage switchgear. Provide direction to CAD designers for creating wiring and assembly drawings. Interact with internal and external customers to accomplish project milestones. Create bill of materials for generator paralleling switchgear controls in ERP system. Develop PLC programs for control of generator paralleling switchgear. Manage multiple projects simultaneously. Education & Experience Required Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Electrical Engineering preferred. 5-7 years of experience required. Internships will be considered. Willing to accept a 2-year degree with 7+ years of experience. Willing to accept a Master's degree with 3+ years of experience. Technical Skills Required Ability to create PLC programs using IEC 61131 PLC Programming languages (Ladder Logic, Function Block Diagram, Structured Text). Experience in designing, testing, and commissioning control systems with different PLC controllers. Expert knowledge on at least one PLC platform: Schneider Momentum, M340, M580, AB Control, Compact Logix, Woodward MSLC, DSLC, Easy Gen, LS5 Architecture. Ability to interpret customer specifications and drawings. Customize PLC software and hardware templates. Technical Skills Desired Understanding of NEC, UL 508, UL 891, UL 1558, UL MV, CSA 22-2, and ANSI requirements. Knowledge of protective relays and their applications in generator and utility protection. Soft Skills Understanding of the design philosophy and operation of complex PLC-based systems.
