The Engineer - Automation Engineering will work as a member of the Automation Engineering Department at Eli Lilly, Foundry. Process Automation is core to delivering a right first time facility start up and continued support of ongoing manufacturing operations into the future.

Key Position's Responsibilities
performing and directing functions of planning organizing and coordinating the activities of the staking engineersin accordance with established policies, plans and objectives of South Central Indiana REMC
coordinating electric planning and electric line design engineering functions within the Distribution Services Department;
providing input and coordination to the consultants of South Central Indiana REMC on methods of system design, construction, maintenance and operation
developing member support, understanding and acceptance of Distribution Services Department activities as they pertain to the membership.

EDUCATION:
Bachelor of Science inElectricalEngineering is required.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of two to three years' experience related to development and implementation of an electric utility system's engineering plans and programs, with demonstrated ability to lead a team. Three to five years of experience with a rural electric distribution system is preferred. Certification of EIT, preferred with an interest and ability to achieve a PE level.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be capable of directing the work of the staking engineers
Must provide engineering advice on methods of electrical system design, construction, maintenance, and operations to various levels of employees or members.
Must design and develop, plans and schedules for electric distribution system improvement requirements.
Must direct corrections to voltage, power factor, and load factor problems.
Must perform regular reviews and analyses to determine methods for improving safety, productivity, and continuity of electrical service.
Must prepare contracts for line construction, maintenance, and system improvements, assist in supervising those contractors.
Must have the ability to communicate effectively with management, employees, members, and others.
Must be available to assist in dispatch during emergencies.
Must be able to work effectively on a daily basis with diverse teams and members.
Must have the ability to communicate patiently, respectfully, and effectively with all levels of people internally as well as externally.

Lilly recently announced a $4.5 billion investment to create the Lilly Medicine Foundry, a new center for advanced manufacturing and drug development. The first-ever facility of its kind, combining research and manufacturing in a single location, the Medicine Foundry will allow Lilly to further develop innovative solutions to optimize manufacturing processes and increase capacity for clinical trial medicines, while also reducing costs and environmental impact.
The Engineer - Automation Engineering will work as a member of the Automation Engineering Department at Eli Lilly, Foundry. The engineer will provide automation support for one or more operating areas across site and/or for capital projects. Process Automation is core to delivering a right first time facility start up and continued support of ongoing manufacturing operations into the future.
The Engineer is also responsible for the productivity and mentorship of the employees with the purpose of ensuring that reliable and compliant control applications and systems are used in the manufacturing at Foundry. Additionally, the Senior Principal Engineer as a key technical expert with partners to influence and implement within the process control organization and across functional disciplines to support the process control technical agenda, business plan priorities, and compliance objectives.
In the project delivery phase and startup phase of the project (startup expected 2025 to 2028), automation engineering roles will be fluid and dynamic as we endeavor to support the project delivery, build a new organization, develop and implement the necessary systems and business processes required to support GMP operations, and build the site culture. This will require significant collaboration, creativity and resilience as the site grows to a full scale GMP manufacturing through start up.
