• Provide technical support and expertise to designated manufacturing assets in the converting areas
• Design and Development: Provides guidance in the initiation, design, optimization, and development of manufacturing and supporting processes to achieve unit objectives. Specifically, to include projects that achieve significant cost savings improvements (YOY).
• Work with area teams to support and drive overall business, mill, and department goals.
• Lead mill-wide cost transformation and sustainability initiatives.
• Lead/facilitate/support problem solving on chronic electrical, safety, or large acute process related issues to determine root cause and resolution plans
• Develop knowledge and skills to be recognized for expertise and functional leadership in application of engineering principles, scientific analysis and project management while providing advice and counsel to others.
• Support converting asset objectives to ensure delivery of yearly metrics
• Project Dimensions:
  • Project responsibility of $1 MM to $30 MM
  • Project team of three to thirty people
  • Single or multiple projects

• Work with Operations Leadership to plan and support asset down execution process.

Cost:

• Through tactical execution of daily activities support efforts to deliver 3% year on year reduction in spending by embracing and fostering a culture of loss prevention and control to drive continuous improvement in the reduction of breakdowns and other losses across the site asset base.

Minimum qualifications:

+ Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent practical experience

+ 10 years of experience working in consumer electronics/embedded systems design

+ Experience in design bring-up, validation, and/or debugging

Preferred qualifications:

+ Experience in electrical design of cell phone baseband, embedded systems, processor architecture, various communication protocols (e.g., USB-C, SPI, I2C, UART, MIPI, DSI, PCIe), and power systems

+ Experience in Python scripting, C++, and Cadence/Allegro

+ Experience with Electrical Engineering lab fundamentals and various pieces of electronic testing equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, power supplies, multi-meters, etc.)

+ Experience in a product manufacturing environment to support prototype build issues and help debug manufacturing testing

+ Passion for being in the lab (e.g., soldering, oscilloscopes, data acquisition) and for engineering.

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will be an integral part of the entire process, specifically involved in the system design, factory bring-up, and test/validation cycles of the project.

+ Lead product feasibility studies including PCB component area placement and circuit implementation and routing studies.

+ Contribute to the electrical design and validation of future hardware phone products focus areas (e.g., USB- C, SPI, I2C, UART, PCIe, and various MIPI standards, uP, memory, and power systems, etc.).

+ Perform electrical engineering tasks related to sub-system designs including schematic capture and circuit signal integrity simulation.

+ Work with PCB/Flex CAD team on proper layout and routing. Create designs on multiple mediums (i.e., rigid multi-layer HDI PCB, multi-layer FPC, hybrid rigid/FPC assemblies).

+ Bring design to mass production by reviewing factory test requirements, assisting in software bring-up, and work with the manufacturing team to ensure successful build.

KBR is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to support NASA's Payload Accelerator for CubeSat Endeavors (PACE) at NASA Ames Research Center. PACE is a new initiative that will support the rapid development of CubeSats to help advance new state-of-the-art small spacecraft technologies.

The Senior Electrical Engineer will support the development and manufacturing of PCB's.

Specifically, this person will support design, develop, implement, and maintain methods, operation sequence, and processes in the manufacture, fabrication, testing, and troubleshooting of parts, components, sub-assemblies. The Senior Electrical Engineer will also ensure Design for Manufacturability and Assembly, final assemblies and systems, as well as system hardware and software interface and system controls.

**Additional Responsibilities:**

+ Developing requirements and documentation for flight missions

+ Mission design efforts with industry, trade studies, and research

+ Support ongoing lab activities for spaceflight projects, including but not limited to developing and maintaining procedures and associated documentation; performance of lab operational duties; maintenance and development of lab hardware and facilities

**Required Education, Experience, & Skills:**

+ Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field

+ 10 + years of related experience

+ Extensive experience using Altium Designer

+ Expertise in PCB development, design, and manufacturing

+ Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills

+ Demonstrate a strong technical aptitude for electrical engineering functions

+ Practice clear interpersonal communication: have an ability and desire to work collaboratively with mission team members from various fields and backgrounds

+ Possess an exceptional drive for mission success and a desire to support mission success through all tasks assigned

+ Ability to work in a dynamic, team-based environment with mission-critical deadlines and deliverables
