In addition, the Electrical Engineering group provides the following services: • Performing power flow analysis of power plant electrical systems to determine performance during normal, emergency, and motor starting conditions. • Simulating and analyzing abnormal system disturbances to identify influential system parameters and root causes. • Analyzing failures of major electrical equipment, such as transformers, large motors, and circuit breakers, to develop corrective action plans. • Conducting diagnostic evaluations of equipment performance. • Supporting the Electrical Safety Program through arc flash analyses, grounding studies, and minimum approach distance (MAD) calculations. • Conducting technical evaluations of procurement and vendor bids. • Witnessing factory acceptance testing, start-up testing, and field testing of major electrical equipment. • Assisting in obtaining emergency spare equipment.
