The Ecohouse Electrical Lead will oversee field electrical work, ensuring compliance with codes and maintaining the highest quality standards. Primary Responsibilities:
Support the oversight of field electrical installations, with direction from licensed electrician
Review electrical drawings and site-specific designs to prepare for construction
Install electrical equipment necessary for solar construction projects, including DC/AC wiring, junction boxes, conduit, inverters, combiner boxes, disconnects, etc.
Interconnect systems by way of back feed breakers and line side taps
Troubleshoot issues with new and existing systems
Perform additional electric work, such as installation of subpanels or replacement of main service panels
Ensure compliance with National Electric Code and jurisdictional requirements
In partnership with electrical and construction managers, quality engineering manager, ensure installations are of high quality and consistent with industry standards
Lead and execute end to end training of new hires in basic solar installation.
Lead and execute training of all employees in electrical installation
Support with all other solar installation responsibilities as needed by the business

Select and schedule electrical equipment.
Edit specifications to reflect the project requirements.
Meet with vendors to determine specification requirements for application.
Coordinate with other disciplines for all Electrical design elements.
Prepare design deliverables for SD, DD, CD level documents.
Provide cost opinions for budgeting construction, and reviewing contractor change orders
Perform project construction administration including response to RFI's and accurate review of submittals.
Perform field verification and take-offs of existing systems for renovation projects.
Attend meetings with clients, authorities having jurisdiction, and other professionals as projects require.
Work planning and manage the design process to the available hours in the work plan.
Job Requirements/Qualifications
(4 to 7) years of experience in Electrical Design in Consulting Engineering.
Working knowledge of design and analysis software such as Revit, SKM, ETAP, Easypower.
Knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC), State Energy Code, NFPA, and FGI Guidelines.
Experience with electrical system studies such as short circuit, over-current device coordination, and Arc Flash Hazard analysis per NPFA 70E.
Knowledge of standard construction practices and the ability to work with contractors to address construction issues.

Completes work orders for work performed and includes parts and inventory used
Document all work order activities to follow MP2 requirements, providing detailed records of the activities performed
Ability to solve and repair low and high voltage controls including fuses, relays, wiring, contactors and power supplies from the source to the field device
Ability to read and comprehend technical manuals and schematics, to include blueprints
Experience using electrical diagnostic equipment (to include digital and analog meters, and amp meters for AC/DC testing)
Qualifications Qualifications and Experience
Minimum of 2 year(s) industrial maintenance experience with PLC's, conveyors, controls, and Operating Systems
Electrical experience with high and low voltage, AC and DC
Demonstrable record of strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting
Knowledge of Automatic Identification systems (Laser and Camera Scanning Devices)
Strong systems or technical capability including PC software and hardware proficiency
Experience in programming and supervising Programmable Logic Controllers such as (Allen/Bradley, Siemens etc.)
Ability to read and comprehend technical manuals and schematics
Ability to read blueprints
Support overtime work as required
Possession of a valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record

Job Summary: Potomac Testing is seeking an experienced Electrical Testing Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will perform acceptance and maintenance testing on low and medium-voltage switchgear, circuit breakers, transformers, protective relays, automatic transfer switches, motor control centers, ground systems, etc. This position will require the ability to operate various testing tools and equipment, as well as read and interpret electrical control schematics and diagrams. The Electrical Testing Technician will also be responsible for documenting services by maintaining records and writing technical reports detailing field work performed.
Responsibilities:
Perform acceptance and maintenance testing on electrical equipment per NETA standards
Operate various testing tools and equipment including megger, digital multimeter, Hipot tester, multiamp relay tester, GFI, TTR, primary and secondary injection set, etc.
Document services by maintaining records and writing technical reports detailing field work performed
Read and interpret electrical control schematics and diagrams
Perform extensive testing, problem identification, and troubleshooting
Inspect and service transformers, switchgear, and relays
Evaluate the operating condition of equipment
Generate detailed reports Communicate effectively with team members and clients
Qualifications:
Fundamental understanding of electrical and mechanical testing procedures
Familiarity with electrical test equipment and fundamentals
Experience in performing extensive testing, problem identification, and troubleshooting
Strong background in troubleshooting and performing start-up service
NETA level II, III, or IV Certification preferred
Ability to travel: 10-15%
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Computer literacy
Compensation and Benefits:
Negotiable salary $30.00 - $60.00 per hour depending on experience
