The Test Cell Engineer provides Engineering support and direction for the testing of high-bypass turbofan engines, including the new Geared Turbofan (GTF). The test cell engineer is responsible for managing the acceptance testing of overhauled and Test-As-Received engines along with managing the maintenance and qualification of the test cell structure. The test cell engineer reviews test data and leads engine troubleshooting, and analyzes systems required to determine the cause of engine behavior. The test cell engineer also manages long term engine performance trends and supports continuous improvement initiatives. Test Cell Engineers also maintain process plans and work instructions for engine test preparation, test execution, and preparing the engine for shipment.
What You Will Do:
* Support Operations in solving any engine test problem. Support troubleshooting by gathering, curating, and analyzing test data to produce conclusions for engine behavior at test
* Provide timely responses to Customer and Engineering Technical Questions
* Work with Powerplant Engineers to execute the proper acceptance test procedures per the Workscope
* Monitor engine performance trends and turnbacks to support the proactive reduction of work stops and rejects
* Create, modify, and maintain work instructions for Pre-Test, Test, and Post-Test tasks
* Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve Test Cell Maturity, Standardization, and Robustness
* Seek opportunities to reduce costs and increase quality and efficiency using new materials, processes, or technology. Assist with maintenance and qualification of the Test Cell System.
* Assist with implementation, operation, and troubleshooting of Test Cell facilities, sensor suite, and data systems.
* Participate in failure investigations and Problem resolution boards
* Be a source of in-depth technical knowledge on the testing of high-bypass turbofan engines
* Become a subject matter expert for testing and prep processes related to high-bypass turbofan engines
* Assist in training mechanics, inspectors and others related to various technical issues
* Demonstrate commitment to the EH&S and continuous improvement programs by complying with all policies and procedures, completing all required training, and supporting all applicable committee activities
Qualifications You Must Have:
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 2 years of experience evaluating how general systems work together, controls and previous engine testing experience. or An Advanced Degree and 6 months of experience evaluating how general systems work together, controls and previous engine testing experience
Qualifications We Prefer:
* Prior experience in systems engineering or validation/development testing
* Experience in jet engine assembly/disassembly/test either at an OEM or MRO site

Position Summary:
FOX is seeking a highly skilled Senior Development Engineer with expertise in electro-mechanical and embedded control systems to drive innovation and technology development. This role will focus on developing new concepts through technology demonstrators and proof-of-concept prototypes in the domain of vehicle suspension, vehicle dynamics, and ride dynamics.
As a key contributor to our R&D and innovation initiatives, you will work on cutting-edge solutions that push the boundaries of performance in vehicle dynamics. You will also be collaborating with experts from various disciplines, ensuring the successful execution of technology development projects.
Position Responsibilities:
* Development of electro-mechanical and embedded systems from concept to functional prototypes by collaborating with an interdisciplinary team
* Execute technical development/integration of electromechanical components, embedded systems and control algorithm development
* Collaboratively create functional criteria and technical requirements
* Perform and or coordinate validation testing and drive system-level improvements
* Create system level schematics, diagrams and documentation
* Conduct system modeling, simulation, and validation
* Support multiple projects, ensuring timely execution and alignment with strategic technology roadmaps
* Travel on location to support integration, testing and verification of concepts/proto types

* Proficiency in embedded control systems principles, theories and concepts applied to vehicle chassis control and/or hydraulic & electronic actuators

* Experience creating control algorithms utilizing rapid proto-typing hardware and software
* Proficiency C, Python, Simulink programing languages
* Proficiency working with CAN, CAN FD, ethernet, serial and other digital communication standards
* Ability to understand electrical diagrams, schematics and other design documentation
* Release designs following good documentation principles and configuration control methods
* Experience with automotive chassis systems
* Experience with CAD; 3D models, mechanical prints with GD&T
* Fundamental mechanical analysis, including statics, dynamics, stress and thermal
* Experience with suspension systems, shock absorbers and vehicle dynamics
