Ethicon's Robotics & Digital Solutions business, part of Johnson & Johnson MedTech, is recruiting for an Associate R&D Mechatronic Engineer, located in Cincinnati, OH.
Robotics and Digital Solutions, is part of Johnson & Johnson Med Tech. At Johnson & Johnson Robotics and Digital Solutions, we're changing the trajectory of health for humanity, using robotics to enhance healthcare providers' abilities and improve patients' diagnoses, treatments, and recovery times. Johnson & Johnson Robotics was established in 2020 with the integration of Auris Health, Verb Surgical, C-SATS, and Ethicon. As an Associate R&D Mechatronic Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and optimizing test systems for cutting-edge robotic medical devices. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to create common test platforms, analyze performance data, and ensure our devices meet rigorous standards for safety and effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop software and hardware systems and test methods to evaluate the performance of robotic instruments.
Support the design of product concepts quickly and effectively via prototype builds, laboratory testing, and/or computer simulations.
Generate, process, analyze advanced engineering data to meet design requirements.
Participate in detailed reviews of designs, test methods, requirements, and effectively communicate technical information in written/verbal forms.
Collaborate with other hardware and software engineers to align and set functional best practices for test method development.
Support effective test execution management, data collection and reporting through coordination and collaboration with existing resources.
All responsibilities listed may not be assigned and other responsibilities may be assigned.
Qualifications
Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, And Experience:
Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related science/engineering field.
1 year minimum of product development/ design experience.
Experience programming in Python.
Experience working in a Linux environment.
Able to assist with engineering investigations, problem solving, root cause, prototype rework, and component modification.
Effective communication, collaboration, and teaming skills with ability to present technical information to engineering team.
Data analysis experience.
Up to 10% domestic and international travel may be required, including overnight stays.
Ability to work in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, And Experience:
Experience using or developing with ROS2, databases (Postgres or MySQL), and cloud platforms.
Familiarity with version control and code management tools (git, bitbucket).
Vision inspection and processing using Cognex or OpenCV.
Basic mechanical design and analysis skills, including an understanding of mechanism design and machine elements.
Able to provide positive and constructive feedback to teammates on product concepts and designs.
Organized with creative with analytical and problem-solving skills; Able to work independently under general supervision.
Able to set and prioritize goals with general guidance from management.
Experience working on a project team with demonstration of encouraging and inclusive behaviors.
Knowledge of component manufacturing processes (injection molding, machining, stamping, etc.), DFM/A, and Design to Cost.
Working knowledge of design controls, design plans, and verification/validation, preferably as they apply within a regulated industry.
Systems-based design experience, including integration of cross-disciplinary technologies (e.g., mechanical, electrical, controls, software).
Experience in the design, development, and commercialization of medical devices with an understanding of their application in surgical procedures.
Experience in the verification of medical devices according to regulatory standards, including FDA requirements.
The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. Qualifications
BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT:
A. Degree: Engineering. To be acceptable, the program must: (1) lead to a bachelor's degree in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by ABET; or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics.

B. Combination of education and experience -- college-level education, training, and/or technical experience that furnished (1) a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying engineering, and (2) a good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the engineering sciences and techniques and their applications to one of the branches of engineering.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
GS-11: At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 level in the Federal service, which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skill, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Role description:
Arcadis is looking for a Senior Water & Hydraulic Engineer to join our world-class firm working within our Water Resiliency Planning & Design Teams. This hybrid role can be based in any of our Ohio locations including Cincinnati, Toledo, Cleveland or Akron, OH
As a Senior Water & Hydraulic Engineer, you will leverage your expertise in hydraulics, collection system planning, and computer modeling, combined with data analytics, to guide local project teams. You will play a key role in leading projects, mentoring junior staff, and developing new business opportunities. Your work will help protect natural resources while contributing to climate change adaptation and urban resiliency.
Role Accountabilities
This role will develop wastewater and stormwater collection system models, conducting system planning, and performing regulatory studies. In addition, this role will provide valuable technical input on new and ongoing projects, guide technical teams, and help ensure the successful delivery of projects. Additional duties include:
* Develop and review of technical reports,
* Lead client presentations, coordinating project deliverables, and contributing to scope definition and project pursuits.
* Enhance the technical knowledge within the team by attending workshops, presenting at industry events, and reviewing professional publications.
* Travel may be required for site visits, client meetings, or project oversight.
Required Qualifications
* Minimum of 7 years of experience in water and hydraulic engineering
* Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
* Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or a Professional Engineer (PE) license, or the ability to obtain one within one year of hire.
* Strong experience with hydraulic modeling, particularly using SWMM and/or ICM, is essential, along with proficiency in GIS.
Key Skills and Attributes
* Excellent communication skills, both oral and written and a deep understanding of wastewater hydraulic modeling and master planning
Preferred Qualifications
* Master's degree
* Project delivery experience and familiarity with computer programming tools like Power BI or Python.

Plan, prepare, and/or instruct both internal and external training programs as required, to impart and perpetuate field engineering and/or product knowledge in area of specialization.
Perform administrative functions in a timely manner that are associated with your work, such as writing technical reports, ordering necessary materials, securing quotations, and preparing job status reports,
Job Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field with 5+ years of field engineering experience preferred.
9 years of combined education and work experience.
Ability and willingness to travel up to an estimated 75% of the time
Experience in the repair and refurbishment of LV and MV circuit breakers is preferred
Technical skills in testing, commissioning, startup and troubleshooting of medium voltage synchronous machines are preferred

JOB PURPOSE
Analyze New Model design to identify concerns/problems prior to Mass Production. Mature design change points to ensure manufacturability. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Administrative duties to report the New Model status, utilize the tracking systems Product Engineering has established.Analyze mass production and new model problems, determine root causes, recommend corrective action, order new test parts, test revised parts to verify corrective action was successful.
Oversee and manage complex problem-solving analysis and investigations.
Study prototype drawings for potential production concerns.
Understand the System test requirements and test the new model units to prevent problems from escaping to the field
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, etc.) or equivalent related experience
2-8 Years of engineering experience
New Model development know how, knowledge of drawing release and application methods, knows how to get the New Model job done, including key job processes and use of design evaluation tools.
Knowledge of Honda New Model Sales, Engineering, and Design/Development (SED) flow, how to mature car design.
Prioritization skills, allocates resources in group as needed. Drives continuous improvement, good interpersonal skills.
