This role is part of the Offshore Patrol Cutter (OPC) C5I design and integration team, aligned to the Maritime Systems & Integration (MS&I) Operating Unit. The NDDS systems lead owns technical responsibility for the Navigation Data Distribution System. This includes responsibility to lead NDDS technical reviews, design, verification, integration and test. They work with the C5I IPT Lead and Chief Engineer to ensure product development occurs per program requirements and provides for successful system integration and verification. In this role, the NDDS Systems Lead will be responsible for the following as it relates to NDDS: + Provide product/subsystem technical leadership for NDDS. + Ensure technical quality, performance, cost, and schedule, including active risk management. + Manage and conduct to closure subsystem and lower technical reviews. + Provide configuration management oversight for NDDS artifacts/products. + Interface with GSC for management of Purchase Orders and Suppliers within the NDDS scope. + Interface with manufacturing for NDDS development within the scope of their product team. + Coordinate with program management and C5I IPT Lead to integrate NDDS into the program work breakdown structure, integrated master plan, and/or IMS. + In coordination with engineering management, support development of additional resources to ensure NDDS is appropriately staffed with qualified personnel. + Collect and report NDDS related engineering metrics. + Work with engineering management to ensure use and application of standardized tools and development environments, as applicable to NDDS. + In coordination with the C5I IPT Lead and Chief Engineer, ensure implementation of systems engineering practices in executing NDDS scope. + Positions may require travel up to 15% of the time to support program needs. + Candidates must have technical leadership and teambuilding skills, strategic thinking, strong technical acumen, and the ability to lead across multiple engineering disciplines in development of the product.
