This full-time position will be based on-site at the NOAA Satellite Operations Facility located in Suitland, MD, and will support NOAA's Office of Space Commerce (OSC) in developing the Traffic Coordination System for Space (TraCSS). As a TraCSS Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for defining and managing TraCSS system requirements, anticipating future needs for the TraCSS system, and assessing SSA software vendors. A strong foundation in mathematics and engineering is required, along with a deep understanding of the mathematical principles underpinning key astrodynamics and SSA concepts - such as orbit determination, covariance realism, maneuver planning, and conjunction assessment. Responsibilities Manage the set of TraCSS system and software requirements Develop operational user scenarios and test cases that will be used in product validation and operational acceptance testing.
