This engineering position is for a role on our Embedded Software Engineering Team. In this role you will be supporting our B-1B Electronic Warfare Software Program. You will be an integral part of an interdisciplinary team of engineers focused on the modernization and sustainment of the ALQ-161A system for the B-1B platform. Our ideal candidate will possess technical expertise, a drive to lead from where you are, collaborative people skills, and the proven ability to work within a technically diverse and fast-paced team. This position is in Warner Robins, GA and requires that you work on-site daily. Your responsibilities will include: Develop, modify, and maintain embedded operational flight programs using software development best practices and standards. Participate in the full software development life cycle, to include requirements development, modeling and design, unit to CSCI testing, integration, formal system testing, release, installation, and maintenance. Ability to provide leadership in solving complex problems. Frequent opportunities to interact with Program Management, external suppliers and/or government customers, therefore excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills are essential to succeeding in this role Basic Qualifications for Sr. Principal Engineer Embedded Software: Must have a Bachelor of Science (B.S) degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or an equivalent STEM related discipline. Minimum of 8 years of direct relevant experience with B.S degree; Minimum of 6 years of direct relevant experience with Masters degree; Minimum of 4 years of direct relevant experience with PhD. Proficient in C/C++/Ada or other OOP languages Proficient in all areas of the formal software lifecycle process from requirements to testing Working knowledge of Electronic Warfare (EW) principles Highly motivated self-starters and able to efficiently operate in a fast-paced team environment Strong verbal and written communication skills Must currently hold and maintain a U.S Department of Defense (DoD) Secret level security clearance Preferred Qualifications: Experience with developing OFPs targeted at real-time embedded operating systems (VxWorks, pSOS) Experience leading cross-functional engineering teams Experience with the Agile software development process Experience interfacing with customers and/or stakeholders Experience with digital signal processing Experience with radar principles Experience programming in Ada Experience with analyzing system requirements to derive software design and test specifications Experience using Jira/Bitbucket/Git Active Secret Security Clearance Primary Level Salary Range: $118,600.00 - $178,000.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
