The Impact You'll Have:
As a Senior Structural Engineer in Alliant's Transportation Design group, you'll have the opportunity to lead the structural design effort on projects of varying scope and complexity throughout Minnesota and nationally. You will have the opportunity to work closely with MnDOT and contractors on high profile, local Design-Build (DB), Construction Manager/General Contractor (CMGC), and traditional design projects. Responsibilities:
As an experienced structural engineer at Alliant, you will independently apply structural engineering principles and techniques. Your excellent technical, written and oral communication skills will lend your expertise in writing proposals, scopes of work and preparing project budgets. Other duties include:
Structural design of steel, prestressed concrete, and cast-in-place concrete bridges
Preliminary and final bridge plan development
Development of quantity calculations, cost estimates and project specifications
Design of minor structural elements of infrastructure projects, such as retaining walls, sign supports, and drainage structures.
Perform Quality Control functions of structural design and calculations generated by others
Actively engage in business development activities, including client contacts, project tracking, team development, and proposal writing.
Mentor less experienced team members to grow in their technical, business development, and project managements skills.

Required Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with a Structural Engineering emphasis
10+ years of experience in bridge and transportation structures design
Minnesota Professional Engineer (PE) License, or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment
Strong working knowledge of structural analysis software such as CSiBridge, LARSA 4D, MIDAS, STAAD, Bentley OpenBridge Designer as well as Bentley OpenRoads CAD software
Strong knowledge of AASHTO LRFD and MnDOT policies and procedures
Experience in proposal writing and development of structural project scopes, schedules, and budgets
Excellent analytical and problem solving capabilities, organization and multitasking skills

Job Summary:
A Project Engineer acts as a key member of project engineering team supporting the Food and Dairy Department in the successful and timely completion of assigned projects. The individual supports and/or executes projects by maintaining or increasing profitability of contracts through efficient engineering design and execution, while simultaneously achieving customer satisfaction. Projects may be comprised of different technologies consisting of Spray Drying, Evaporation, Filtration and Liquid Processing. The focus for this position is on Spray Drying technology. Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Participates in all phases of a project from initial customer meetings through pre-award sales support, cost estimation, proposal generation, engineering, commissioning and start up. Is responsible for specific technical areas of the project, specifying technical solutions and equipment which meet customer expectations/specifications within the time and budget constraints of the contract.
Adheres to design standards and optimization of engineering designs to meet customer specifications within project budgets.
Proactively anticipates technical, schedule, execution or commercial problems and exercises judgment to meet project commitments.
Responsible for documenting and keeping accurate records of customer meetings, discussions and correspondence as well as maintaining well-organized technical files for project document control - i.e., generating outgoing deliverables, document transmittals, version control, tracking incoming customer approvals and filing.

Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components, subject to the applicable Cisco plan. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco typically pays as follows:

* 1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%;
* 1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%; and
* Once performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation.
For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay 0% up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.

Job Summary:

Adheres to design standards and optimization of engineering designs to meet customer specifications within project budgets.
