Facilitate the transition of the Direct Feed High Level Waste (DFHLW) Mission to an operations effort, coordinate and lead a team of seniorengineers to develop a Process Control Strategy (PCS) for the integrated DFHLW configured facilities.
Assist with oversight of Performance Oversight Specialist performance.
Assist with oversight of Performance Oversight Specialist's system design review program (performance and planning activities), and nuclear safety program for the WTP High Level Waste (HLW) Facility.
Provide support in the assessments of Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) progress for the WTP HLW systems in the baseline and DFLAW configurations.
Assist with oversight of Performance Oversight Specialists' efforts to address findings, including monitoring and reporting on any improvements in Performance Oversight Specialist's Assurance Program, extent of condition reviews, and issue resolution efforts.
Provide WTP Performance Assurance support to the Assistant Manager WTP (AMWTP), Deputy AMWTP, and Division Directors, for management assessments, action tracking and record management.
Provide auditing and training support.
Work products shall be thorough, accurate, appropriately documented, and comply with established criteria. The Performance Oversight Specialist shall ensure that duties are performed in a competent and professional manner. The Mechanical Engineer works in the Tank Farm Project and Chief Technology Office Organization, supporting the Tank Farms Projects (TFP) Engineering team and will work closely with other engineers, project managers and internal/external agencies. This position will work within the Projects Engineering group supporting a wide variety of tank farm infrastructure projects using innovative approaches to solving complex technical challenges. This involves teaming with the Chief Technology Office, and Industry on development of robotics and remotely operated equipment, and other targeted technology that can implemented in the Field as part of a larger infrastructure upgrade project.
The candidate must be a motivated engineer interested in joining a high performing team focused on project execution, worker safety and deploying innovative engineering solutions to handle Hanford's most challenging tasks.
