Key Responsibilities will include: Performing drainage analysis, volume calculations, cost estimates, and soil loss calculations Preparing a wide variety of construction drawings, conceptual site layouts, maps and as-built drawings, and other products to meet customer requirements Preparing designs such as site plans, grading and drainage plans, pump and piping plans, and conceptual layouts for civil earthworks, landfill grading and mine site design, and construction projects Completing design drawings and bid-ready construction detailed plans within a scheduled timeline and budget Field assignments to support ongoing construction quality assurance projects and occasional site visits to support design and construction activities and to attend meetings Assist in the production of project reports and materials Ability to read and understand schematics, diagrams, site plans, and aerial maps Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with supervisors, co-workers, clients and employees in other departments and others as encountered in the course of work; this position requires the flexibility to best serve the needs of the firm and will perform other duties as assigned Requirements for the position: BS Degree in Engineering (Civil, Geologic, or related field) Minimum of 0-4 years of Civil, Environmental, Geotechnical or Construction Management experience is desired Experience in earthworks grading, landfill and/or mine design is a plus Must be proficient with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD and Civil 3D software Must have strong communication skills, verbal and written Ability to work well independently and within a team environment Ability to travel up to 50% of the time E.I.T., or ability to receive certification within 6 months of employment, is required with expectation to obtain licensure as a Professional Engineer Possession of a valid California Driver's License Candidate Must: Be eligible to work in the United States Pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen Pay range: $60,125 - $73,486 GLA offers a comprehensive benefits package including health/dental/vision insurance, 401(k) retirement plan, life insurance, flexible spending accounts, vacation leave, sick leave and profit sharing.
