Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

What Will Put You Ahead
Ten (10) or more years' experience in a technical role working with polypropylene
Experience in blow molding, injection molding, and extrusion
Five (5) or more years' technical experience in molding processes

Minimum Qualifications:
* Currently in the process of receiving or have already received a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or other relevant degree
* Minimum 3.0 GPA on 4.0 scale
* 0-3 years of relevant experience
* Previous related internship and/or work experience
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience with turbomachinery products (gas turbines, centrifugal compressors, generators/alternators, etc.)
* Experience with 3D CAD programs for mechanical design (PTC Creo or Dassault Systemes SolidWorks)
* Ability to write and communicate ideas clearly
* Ability to work well with others, team spirit, and flexibility with personal schedule to meet deadlines
A sense of urgency and organizational skills are also required to work with multiple projects and competing priorities.
Summary Pay Range:
$70,944.00 - $106,416.00

We are currently searching for an experienced Traffic Project Engineer to support our Southwest Region located in Texas.
The successful candidate will work on challenging transportation design projects providing technical expertise and ensuring compliance with locality and state DOT standards. The candidate will serve as Task Manager and collaborate with multidisciplinary team and provide guidance and direction to project team for various traffic design tasks on roadway, bridge and interchange improvements, intersection modifications and pedestrian/bike facilities projects. This position offers an excellent career opportunity with tremendous growth potential.
What you'll be doing:
Prepare traffic signal design plans for new intersections and signal modifications to facilitate multimodal accommodations
Prepare temporary traffic control plan/traffic management plan (TMP) and signing, pavement marking plans
Prepare streetlight design plan and perform photometric analysis using Agi32
Prepare technical reports for IJR/IMR, and traffic/safety/road diet studies
Prepare Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) design plans
Prepare quantities and develop PS&E packages supporting highway design projects
Assist in preparing conceptual intersection layouts, schematics, signal timings and engineering reports
Supervise and mentor junior engineers
Attend project meetings with clients
What you need to have:
BS in Civil Engineering
5-10 years of traffic engineering experience
EIT is required, PE is preferred
Proficiency in MicroStation and/or AutoCAD (OpenRoads preferred)
Familiarity with TxDOT and/or general DOT traffic design standards, MUTCD and AASHTO
Proficiency in traffic analyses software such as VISSIM, Synchro/Simtraffic, Sidra Intersection, HCS
Local state DOT experience is preferred
Self-starter and capable of completing tasks with minimal oversight
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and written
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening to ensure a safe and productive work environment. Volkert adheres to federal guidelines, which may include testing for substances such as marijuana. Please note that federal regulations may differ from state-specific guidelines
If applicable to the position, a post offer fit for duty evaluation to ensure the individual can safely perform the essential functions of the role
