POSITION SUMMARY

This is a new division within Batchelor & Kimball that will focus on all aspects of consulting engineering and manufacturing. The director will be responsible for the development of a team that will engineer, manufacture, and deliver fabricated systems based on conceptual information specifically tailored to each client. The candidate will be responsible for the profitability of the product from concept design, through fabrication, and ultimately to installation. While the position is located in Conyers, GA, the director will be an integral part of our business development strategy by attending interviews, surveying existing facilities, offering on-site engineering support, and development of manufacturing opportunities.
Job Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
Champion development of a manufacturing strategy to produce skidded (repeatable) MEP systems. These systems will be specially targeted during the bid process and developed with the design team. Systems may include, but are not limited to:
o Mission critical manufacturing
Hot aisle containment racks
CDU Skids
CRAH Skids
Cooling Tower Skids
Chiller Skids
Umbilical services
o Multi-trade racks
o Equipment Skids
o Multi-service modules
o Vertical Risers

Lead and mentor a group of managers, foreman, and VDC personnel to develop manufactured systems for the following facilities:
o Healthcare
o Laboratories
o Mission Critical
o Manufacturing
o Complex and exciting unknowns
Collaborate with the preconstruction team to develop and draw piping, duct, insulation, and controls systems from conceptual level information (Bluebeam and / or Revit) for the following facilities:
o Healthcare
o Laboratories
o Mission Critical
o Manufacturing
o (Again) Complex and exciting unknowns
Evaluate design proposals, engineering plans, equipment and specifications for prefabrication opportunities with the preconstruction and operations team
Present life cycle / cost benefit analysis of various mechanical solutions to owners and contractors
Demonstrate an exhaustive knowledge of NFPA, IBC, IMC, ASHRAE, and other relevant local, state, and federal codes

Development and participation in project interviews

Build, Review, and approve manufacturing estimates (labor, material, and subcontractors) to determine allocation of resources (manpower, equipment, and materials) from start to finish within the fabrication shop
Provide leadership and oversight, internal and external, regarding the successful execution of the manufacturing project workflow and task management with the collective team.
In depth understanding of schedule, construction procedures, material procurement, and project management
Maintains manufacturing consistency across all regions
o Development and maintenance of Operational KPIs
o Development and maintenance of Financial KPIs
o Manufacturing drawings, BOMs, schedules, cost, and execution
o Develop standard LOD400 and LOD500 skid modules
Verify compliance of all VDC drawings produced for spooling prior to sending them to spooling. Work with the Prefabrication VDC Manager and fabrication facility Superintendent to eliminate waste and drive efficiency.

The pay range for this position is $179,800 to $258,500, however, base pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge and location.
