GEA Group's Pharma Division, based in Columbia, MD, is searching for a newly created Sr. Director of Engineering and Project Execution to join our team! The Director is responsible for the Mechanical Design and Automation Software & Electrical along with the project management of pass-through orders, as part of the Order Execution unit of the Pharma North America. It includes new equipment and large service orders. It will be his/her responsibility to plan the resources of the Engineering and Project Management group and deliver the related portion of projects according to the budget, schedule, scope and specifications. The Director EPED will also make sure that cost estimates and sales support for the Business Units is provided and technical direction based on current technology trends is given.
Responsibilities:
Ensures clear assignment of work to staff for presale and project execution.
Develop and manage external resources to cope with business work overload, utilizing GEA India and subcontractors.
Work out a measuring instrument to track the progress of deliverables on projects specific basis (incl. hours spent / required)
Maintains appropriate staffing levels to meet budgeted utilization, scheduling overtime as needed and determines priorities within the departments in the case that it is required.
Works with GEA Global Design Team and the Core Technology Centers (CTCs) on the selection and implementation of hardware and design software.
Participates in project meetings such as turnover, phase gate, design reviews and lessons learned.
Interacts with the Core Technology Center (GEA Pharma factories) Engineering and Project Management team members to ensure the appropriate approach to NAM customers.
Works with the other members of the Pharma leadership team to drive business growth, ensure the delivery of customer commitments and to attain the budget goals.
Completes performance evaluations.
Resolves internal employee conflicts.
Ensures that department is following company established Procedural Guidelines.
Approves all department timesheets and vacation requests.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is required with strong working experience in automation.
7+ years' experience in similar functions in equipment engineering and project management for an equipment manufacturing including 5+ years in a leadership role.
Experience in matrix organizations, especially influencing and leading without direct authority
Experience in budgeting & planning
Experience in change management
The typical base pay range for this position at the start of employment is expected to be between $150,000.00 - $180,000.00 per year. GEA Group has different base pay ranges for different work locations within the United States.

Qualifications:

This team is building segmented firewalling directly in the data plane-a first-of-its-kind innovation not available elsewhere in the industry. **Department Summary**

**Job Duties and Responsibilities**
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ Develop and execute a comprehensive global market access strategy for LEO and GEO satellite-based inflight connectivity services
+ Secure required regulatory authorizations, spectrum licenses, and satellite landing rights across multiple jurisdictions
+ Lead engagement with international regulatory and standards bodies (FCC, ISED, ITU, CEPT, WRC) to shape policy and safeguard operational interests
+ Oversee entity and branch formation in key markets to ensure compliance with foreign ownership, spectrum access, and operational requirements
+ Direct cross-functional teams-engineering, legal, and operations-to obtain hardware and equipment certifications for airborne terminals, antennas, and modems

**Skills, Experience and Requirements**
**Education and Experience:**
+ Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, or related technical field
+ 20+ years of leadership in telecommunications, satellite communications, or aviation connectivity, with direct experience in LEO and GEO satellite systems
+ Proven track record of securing global regulatory approvals for inflight connectivity or similar services
