This role is responsible for ensuring equipment reliability, plant safety, regulatory compliance, and minimal downtime. The Maintenance Manager leads and develops the maintenance team while planning, coordinating, and managing preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs across production, refrigeration, utilities, and facility systems. Key Responsibilities: Lead, supervise, train, and develop the maintenance team to support safe and efficient plant operations Plan and manage preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs for processing, packaging, refrigeration, utilities, and building systems Ensure compliance with FDA, USDA, GMP, OSHA, and food safety regulations Troubleshoot and support resolution of complex mechanical, electrical, PLC, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues Collaborate closely with Production, Quality, Sanitation, and Safety teams to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability Manage maintenance budgets, spare parts inventory, vendor relationships, and contractor services Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and asset data using a CMMS Support internal and external audits and corrective action programs Lead safety initiatives including lockout/tagout, machine guarding, and hazard identification Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, capital projects, and continuous improvement initiatives Provide off-shift and on-call support as required to maintain plant operations Qualifications: Minimum of 5 years of maintenance experience in a food manufacturing environment 2-3 years of supervisory or management experience Strong working knowledge of industrial maintenance systems and food manufacturing equipment Proven leadership, communication, and team development skills Ability to prioritize tasks and make sound decisions in a fast-paced production environment Strong commitment to safety, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement Preferred Qualifications: Experience with refrigeration or ammonia-based systems Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, TPM, or reliability-centered maintenance Bilingual English/Spanish skills Physical & Work Environment Requirements: Ability to work in a food manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, temperature variations, and production equipment Flexibility to work extended hours, weekends, or respond to emergency maintenance needs
