Manage, lead, and participate in internal and external workshops and training session services relating to process flow, equipment selection and layout, design of facilities, safety and sanitation compliance, and operational output documentation Manage, lead, and participate in mentoring engineering technology, and plant layout and design for food business leadership Manage, lead, and participate in food industry client service programs in food safety and 3 rd Party Audit GFSI platforms. Lead and participate in any food industry client engineering programs as needed, including assisting in hosting clients in trade shows and small-scale manufacturing at FAPC. Write and publish Fact Sheets on recurring engineering service/technology themes, targeting FAPC clients. Offer/facilitate continuing credit courses/workshops in food engineering topics and related disciplines for Oklahoma's P.E.s. Assess and implement new technologies, tools, and systems to enhance team efficiency and resource utilization. Supervise the product design process, identify and recommend solutions to performance problems related to materials, applications, and internal systems. Institute and coordinate development, testing, and deployment of innovative engineering concepts. Direct the design, acquisition, and application of approved projects. Cultivate and sustain a skilled workforce through recruitment, training, mentoring, and managing employee performance. Develop and maintain departmental budget(s), monitor, and manage costs and reconcile exceptions to budget. Stay informed of the latest trends and advancements in the engineering and product design sectors, as well as in managerial professions through ongoing education, organizational membership, and analysis of trade and professional journals, etc. Required Skills/Abilities: Minimum of ten (10) years of progressive engineering and project management experience is required, with demonstrated success in managing new product development projects. Demonstrated ability to communicate professionally and effectively across all levels of the organization to accomplish desired results. Proficiency in the use of computers/software to include Microsoft Office, AutoCAD or similar, and ERP systems (preferably SAP). Education and Experience: B.S.
