Group Info: Lead the Engineering group supporting the existing and expansion site in Spokane, WA. The group will have around 10 engineers reporting to this role including Manufacturing Engineering, Automation, Project Engineers/Managers. Note1: The company recently completed their 3rd state-of-the-art Sterile Liquid compounding & Vial Filling line and are currently expanding again with a 4th line at this site. Note 2: This is a hands-on role and the manager is expected to lead the team by example and perform some strategic engineering work and also lead this group. He will report to the Sr. Director of Engineering. Note 3: This role can be top graded to an Associate Director for the right person with this level of experience Summary: The Sr. Engineering Manager will lead a team of technical professionals responsible for the design, installation, qualification, and ongoing operational improvement of state-of-the-art aseptic filling equipment for liquid and lyophilized pharmaceutical products. This role ensures compliance with cGMP, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices while driving reliability, innovation and efficiency in sterile manufacturing operations. Job Description: Project Leadership: Manage end-to-end engineering projects for aseptic filling systems, isolators, lyophilizers, and component preparation equipment including concept design, procurement, installation, commissioning, and qualification. Develop and maintain project timelines, budgets, and resource plans. Design & Specifications: Define technical requirements for filling lines, filling assemblies, isolators, lyophilizers, component preparation equipment, product and diluent vessels and associated SCADA components. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Manufacturing, Quality, Validation) to ensure equipment meets process and regulatory needs. Installation & Qualification: Oversee equipment installation and integration into existing facilities. Lead IQ/OQ/PQ activities in alignment with validation protocols and regulatory standards. Compliance and Documentation: Ensure adherence to global regulatory requirements and guidelines for aseptic processing and regulatory standards. Prepare and review engineering documentation, including URS, FAT/SAT reports, and qualification protocols. Own equipment related deviation and CAPA investigation and remediation. The incumbent will be expected to perform other related duties as assigned. * Directs, supervises and manages the activities of the Traffic Division of the Public Works Department, including planning, design, operations and maintenance of the City's traffic and transportation system and infrastructure and all related activities; * Prepares and reviews plans and specifications for all traffic control devices, road and intersection projects, electrical equipment and materials, construction detours and street lighting - for both public capital and private development projects - to ensure proper layout, capacity, and traffic control elements are provided for all travel modes, and to ensure compliance with access management principles, identify violations of traffic codes and possible safety hazards, verify projects meet transportation concurrency requirements and assess mitigation requirements as appropriate; administers the Transportation Impact Fee program and determines appropriate fees for proposed development; * Performs short and long range transportation planning, including preparation of the City's Six-Year Transportation Improvement Plan (TIP); * Prepares and reviews traffic and safety studies; determines improvements and corrections necessary to comply with law and ensure the safety of all citizens * Prepares or assists in the preparation of grant applications including analyzing current and future traffic needs of the City and traffic related cost estimates; * Develops, recommends and implements traffic and transportation engineering investigations, studies, use of appropriate traffic control devices, and detour patterns for construction projects; * Responsible for the overall management and operation of the City's traffic control signal system, street light system, school and crosswalk beacon systems, signing and markings program and traffic sign asset management and retro-reflectivity compliance; * Receives and responds to traffic and transportation concerns and issues and determines and recommends appropriate resolutions to maintain positive community/customer relations for the Division, Department and City. * Participates in meetings with other departments, outside agencies and commissions, citizen groups, etc. to provide information and direction in relation to federal, state and City traffic and transportation engineering standards, requirements, guidelines, etc. * Administers the city's traffic safety, bicycle, pedestrian and transit programs; * Acts as a mentor and technical resource for subordinate staff; * Develops and monitors Division goals and objectives to efficiently accomplish assigned tasks and responsibilities of the Traffic Division; * Reviews the work of subordinates and consultants to ensure conformance with sound engineering practices, and all applicable environmental and Federal, State and City standards and regulations; * Approves and stamps design documents and specifications prepared under his/her supervision; * Assures that concerns and complaints from the public and others are adequately and timely addressed; analyzes solutions for problems and challenges and recommends corrective action, as needed; * Develops proposals and oversees the selection, negotiation and administration of consulting engineering agreements; * Prepares and monitors the Traffic Division budget; * Prepares reports and presentations for the Department, City Council and other agencies; * Supervises development of and revisions to City traffic related engineering standards and specifications; * Provides for training and development of subordinate supervisors and staff; * Conducts performance evaluations, administers discipline; participates in the hiring, termination and pay change recommendations of Section staff; Employment Standards: This position requires a Bachelor's Degree in civil engineering or a closely related field and a minimum of five years of experience in traffic and transportation activities, including a minimum of three years of supervisory experience, or any combination of relevant education and experience sufficient to demonstrate the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties listed above. * Must possess a Professional Engineer's license in the State of Washington, or have the ability to obtain one by comity within six months of hire. * A valid Professional Traffic Operations Engineering (PTOE) certification is desirable. * Must pass a criminal background investigation. * Must maintain regular attendance and punctuality. * Must maintain a level of mental and physical fitness required to perform the essential functions of this classification. About you * B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field. Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components, subject to the applicable Cisco plan. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco typically pays as follows: * .75% of incentive target for each 1% of revenue attainment up to 50% of quota; * 1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%; * 1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%; and * Once performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation. For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay 0% up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
