What You'll Contribute to OHM Advisors As a Drinking Water Technical Lead in the Environmental and Water Resources Group (EWRG), you will support a range of water resources projects across the Midwest. The EWRG is a diverse 40+ person team looking for talented engineers with a passion for water resources. EWRG works on a variety of water, wastewater, and stormwater projects including modeling of distribution and collection systems, asset management, stream restoration, green infrastructure, and a range of facility designs. The ideal candidate is a collaborative leader with strong analytical skills who takes initiative and is passionate about mentoring staff, guiding projects, and serving as a trusted resource to clients. This position could be either full-time or part-time with flexible working arrangements available. Your Responsibilities Provide technical leadership on drinking water projects for communities ranging from 1,000 to 100,000 in population, including planning level design of transmission main, distribution systems, pumping stations, and storage facilities. Ability to perform and to mentor and train staff in the following: Growth and demand projections. Development, calibration, and maintenance of hydraulic models for drinking water systems. Capacity analyses, fire flow analyses, and scenarios planning for growth, resiliency, and redundancy. Evaluating system performance under a variety of operational and emergency conditions. Providing recommendations for system improvements including water main, pumping, and storage improvements. Master planning, capital planning, feasibility studies, and regulatory compliance initiatives. Prepare and/or review clear, well-structured technical reports, presentations, and data visualizations for both technical and non-technical audiences. Work closely with engineers, planners, and operators to interpret model results and communicate findings. Coordinate directly with clients throughout project delivery, serving as their trusted point of contact. Build and maintain strong client relationships by understanding their priorities, anticipating needs, and providing responsive technical support. Requirements Bachelor's degree or higher in Civil or Environmental Engineering, or experience in drinking water system planning. Ideal candidate will have at least five to ten years of water resources related experience, specifically in Drinking Water. Professional Engineer license desirable but not required. Experience with drinking water infrastructure analysis, planning, and design. Experience working with GIS and with hydraulic modeling programs such as EPA-Net, InfoWater, InfoWater Pro, and/or WaterGEMS is preferred. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
