This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading team that provides environmental solutions to the public and private sectors throughout the State of Maryland.
Job Description:
Maryland Environmental Service (MES) has immediate openings for a full-time Environmental Dredging Technician (EDT)/Senior Environmental Dredging Technician (SEDT) at the Cox Creek Dredged Material Containment Facility located in northern Anne Arundel County, Maryland.

Primary responsibilities: EDT responsibilities include assisting in record keeping of field collected data, generating reports, performing site inspections, operating sampling boats and vehicles, assigning daily tasks to staff and adhering to the project's water quality regulations. The SEDT position may be a supervisory position responsible for direct oversight of other employees. Candidates must be adaptable and willing to learn new skills and tasks. Computer literacy is required. Experience with spreadsheets, word processing and database management is preferred. This position may occasionally require occasional evening and weekend work as well as temporary assignments to other Baltimore-area MES facilities.

Estimated Pay Range:
EDT: $36,206.83 - $45,000
SEDT: $39,828.36 - $53,000

Minimum Requirements:
Graduation from a standard high school or GED plus two years experience in operations monitoring or environmental inspection. The SEDT minimum qualifications include graduation from a standard high school or GED plus three years experience in operations monitoring or environmental inspection.

Applicants may substitute additional education from an accredited junior college or university for required experience at the rate of 30 undergraduate credit hours for each year of required experience. Must have a valid driver's license with less than 5 points and ability to lift 50 pounds.

Preferred qualifications: The preferred candidate will possess experience in dredged material containment facility inspection and operations.

Systems Planning Corporation (SPC), a subsidiary company of GAI Consultants, Inc., is seeking a Senior Environmental Technician. The Environmental Technician will be responsible for the environmental compliance oversite at construction sites as it pertains to VA Pollutant Discharge Elimination System VAR 10 General Construction Permits, County Land Disturbing Permits, U.S. Army Corps of Engineer (USACE) Water Permits, and various other environmental permits.

Responsibilities:


Working under the Client's and/or supervisor's direction to execute Federal, State, and Local government's environmental requirements and audit compliance to various other environmental permits. Coordinating with project and site managers, environmental staff, contractors, and regulatory agencies. Supporting the Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP) oversight, including Erosion and Sediment Controls Plans (E&SCP), Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure Plans, Storm Water Management Plans, Fugitive Dust plans, and required weekly compliance monitoring reports. Supporting oversight of permitting and conducting weekly E&SC and site condition inspections with reporting of findings to project teams. Carrying out audits per applicable Federal/State/Local government laws/requirements. Responsible for keeping records of environmental incidents and providing recommendations for corrective measures. Working together with the Client's management team to implement corrective action. Time will also be spent in the company or Client's office processing paperwork and completing compliance monitoring reports. This position requires 100% fieldwork within the VA region with occasional overnights (approximately 40% of the time).

**The role you'll contribute:**

Performs a variety of environmental services to maintain assigned areas in a clean and orderly condition. Maintains supplies and/or equipment in clean, and working condition. Monitors and trains others on various processes.

· Cleans assigned areas daily, including collecting and removing trash, changing bed linens and sanitizing all surfaces

· Follows policies and procedures in accordance with facility standards

· Stocks paper items and other supplies in assigned areas as necessary or designated

· Demonstrates a complete knowledge of infection control, isolation procedures and proper operation of cleaning equipment related to cleaning. Documents all work that has been performed such as Safety Data Sheets (SDS)

· Stocks cart daily with paper products and cleaning solution. Cleans patient rooms, public areas, restrooms, offices and ancillary rooms in assigned areas. Collects and disposes of trash (contaminated or non-contaminated) in an appropriate manner. Collects and stages soiled linen for pick up. Procedures include but are not limited to: sweeping, dust mopping, damp mopping, high dusting, wall washing, scrubbing, bed making and vacuuming

· Dispose of normal and biohazardous waste

· Responsible for training employees, directing complaints, and resolving problems

· Performs other duties as assigned

**Qualifications**

**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:**

· High School Education or equivalent

· One year of technical experience
