Role: Senior ETL Developer
Location: Washington, DC
Duration: 6+ Months

Qualifications
Minimum of six (6) years of hands-on experience in task areas assigned, and familiarity with data management and ETL technologies, standards, and methodologies and;
Preference of Bachelor's degree, or higher, in Data Management, Data Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
Minimum of four (4) years serving in a senior ETL engineer role applying subject matter knowledge directly related developing data pipelines in Informatica PowerCenter and Data Quality from a variety of relational, non-relational, and flat file sources to a data repository (e.g. Microsoft SQL Server, Azure SQL, Azure PaaS Storage, etc). Additionally, a Senior ETL Engineershall have the ability to independently resolve most problems, which necessitates an intimate knowledge of the related technical subject matter.
Strong customer service skills and team building skills, and the ability to collaborate within a cross-functional team.
Ability to research and resolve problems efficiently and accurately with knowledge and experience of ETL, data enhancement and standardization.
Ability to perform sufficient degree of quality assurance, quality control, and unit testing of own and colleague's work to ensure products are free from errors, both technical and logical.
Ability to identify and recommend ways to optimize existing and future ETL pipelines.
Performs detail-oriented task independently.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience providing project briefs to management.
Experience developing custom data definition language (DDL) based on functional requirements, data dictionaries, existing data structures, or a combination thereof.
Experience converting DDL from a variety of database and data repository platforms to Transact-SQL (T-SQL).
Experience utilizing Python and BASH scripting to prepare data for ETL in Informatica or to supplement data pipelines.
Experience gathering functional requirements from data architects, data analysts, data scientists, and other business users, converting functional requirements to technical requirements, and implementing them.
Experience developing accurate and detailed documentation on ETL processes and results that can be used by someone with a sufficient level of technical knowledge to validate the work, or if necessary, re-create it.
Be comfortable using technical tools to support activities in data modeling and development of modern methods and best practices to answer a variety of data issues.
Be able to advise users on access to various client/server databases.
