Compensation Type: HourlyCompensation: $18.25 The Grounds & Facilities Worker responsibilities include but are not limited to office moves, furniture moves, event setups, pickup and delivery of items from dock and to and from other campus locations; maintaining lawns, landscape, leaf clean-up, sidewalks, parking lots and parking garage; trash and recycling pickup and disposal; snow removal and application of de-icing product. Exterior Grounds Maintenance Maintains outside premises. Mows, trims, blows, edges, aerates and overseeds. Plants, waters, fertilizes, prunes, mulches, weeds; maintains plant beds, shrubs and trees; performs leaf blowing and removal. Applies pesticides, insecticides, and herbicides. Patches potholes, stripes lots, installs signs and performs general cleaning responsibilities to maintain sidewalks and parking lots; maintains flags. Participates in snow removal as assigned; utilizes shovels, snow blowers, utility vehicles, tractors, salt spreaders and trucks for snow removal; cleans walkways, stairs, parking lots and roadways of ice and snow; applies de-icing products to various areas to melt ice and provide safe conditions. Interior Facilities Support Moves office and conference room furniture (e.g. desks, chairs, cabinets, bookcases) within rooms, between buildings, regional learning centers and off campus locations. Arranges event setups for campus meetings, classroom activities, public events, or conferences (e.g. furniture, stage, equipment, tables, chairs). Conducts regular and routine building upkeep duties to include but not limited to emptying recycle containers and ensuring buildings are in presentable condition (e.g. floor mats straight, white boards clean, chairs pushed in, etc.). Paints small interior areas and exterior areas (e.g. offices, handrails, curbs) and does minor drywall repair as assigned. Environmental & Operational Support Ensures cleanliness and appearance of facilities by monitoring classrooms, offices, lobbies, restrooms, administrative areas and reports all issues to Facilities supervisor or manager. Removes inappropriate markings, stickers, decals, advertisements, graffiti; performs safe cleanup, removal, and disposal of blood-borne pathogens and other infectious or hazardous materials. - Ensure all electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment in the data center operates at peak efficiency. - Perform planned preventative maintenance, daily corrective work, and emergency response for critical systems. - Serve as an expert technical resource, reporting to a program manager and interacting with Onsite Engineering Operations (OEO) and third-party vendors. - Act as the main point of contact for all facility operations within the assigned data center. - Maintain better than 99.999% uptime for mission-critical server support equipment. - Apply safe working practices, including lockout/tagout procedures, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and good housekeeping. - Use hand tools and test equipment to install, troubleshoot, and repair new or replacement parts for existing units. - Read and review blueprints, wiring diagrams, mechanical riser drawings, and job specifications. - Assist higher-level technicians (CET2) with more advanced procedures as needed. - Conduct daily facility walk-throughs, documenting parameters such as power availability, temperature, humidity, and alarm status for trend analysis. - Utilize Building Management System (BMS) and Electrical Power Monitoring System (EPMS) to monitor and verify the status of infrastructure. - Log all maintenance activities in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). - Learn and follow site-specific processes, including incident/outage reporting, procedure execution, and use of SharePoint for accessing procedures and training content. - Understand and participate in site emergency operations plans (EOPs) as a first responder in the data center.
