Hughes is looking for a Senior Engineer - Field/Installation for our team in the North America Service Delivery division! This person's primary duties will include all aspects of field support.
Responsibilities:
All preventive and corrective maintenance for the 50+ remote and Jupiter sites across the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Europe, and South America, 10+ dedicated customer RFT'sAssist in maintaining the spares pool of hardware for the Jupiter product lines. This inventory is predominantly based out of the Detroit RMC location, but additional spare pools are dispersed in other geographic location.Work closely with the Detroit personnel on aspects of the field service operation.Assist in developing, updating and keeping reference material as needed Oversee installation, testing, operations, and maintenance of satellite earth station equipment Operate and maintain RFS, GSC, GBBF, MCP, SBSS, SBAS, and all mechanical and electrical elements of the TeleportAssume responsibility for escalation and emergency response requests in a 24 x 7 x 365 environment.Occasional work required during maintenance windows, outside of normal working hours.Monitor power, HVAC, fire detection/suppression, and local security and monitoring systems.Maintain equipment inventory and configuration management records, including software releases, patches, etc.Ensure compliance with applicable standards Travel required up to 50% of the time and flexibility is a must

Basic Requirements:
Must be U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident - position requires access to U.S. export restricted materials (ITAR) Bachelors Degree or combination of education and experience8+ years of directly related work experience is required Ability to work and manage in a 24 x 7 x 365 work environment, multi-task while meeting deadlines, and work well under pressure

Raytheon Technologies senior field engineer job description

Sentinel is the primary air defense radar for the US Army and the Life Cycle Contractor Support (LCCS) contract provides support for the Sentinel radar. An LCCS Field Service Representative (FSR) is responsible for supporting/overseeing Sentinel Radar System operation and maintenance activities in Iraq. The LCCS FSR oversees all the installation, test, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities for Sentinel Radar Systems at their assigned location(s). The LCCS FSR is considered the technical expert on Sentinel and must be able to answer all technical questions regarding the operation and maintenance of the system. The LCCS FSR will provide guidance to the US Army Sentinel Radar System Maintainer MOS94M, as necessary, to complete intermediate and depot level maintenance, fault isolation, alignment, calibration and repair verification that is beyond their authorized capability. If required the FSR will assist the unit with march order and emplacement tasks.

This position is contingent on the candidate's ability to meet all deployment needs at all times to include passing a physical if required for that region as well as potential deployment through CONUS Replacement Center (CRC) (if directed by US Army customer).

Fullerton, CA WILL NOT be the permanent home location, only the initial on-boarding will take place in Fullerton. The FSR will be based out of Iraq.
Required Skills:

Active Secret Clearance.

A minimum of 5 years experience in the repair of S band and/or X band artillery search and acquisition radar systems (e.g. Firefinder and Sentinel) or US Air Force Air Traffic Control and Tactical Weather Radar systems.

In-depth understanding of radar systems operations is a must.

Willing to complete a minimum twelve (12) month tour in Iraq from the date of arrival in theater.

Mandatory Physical Requirements for Theater:

Ability to lift and carry 40 lbs.

Able to travel to an overseas location for a 1 year deployment.

Able to work outdoors in extreme climate conditions with temperatures in excess of 120 degrees.

Able to work 12 - 16 hour days and be on-call 24/7.

Able to meet required overseas medical requirements to deploy via CRC to CENTCOM to include required vaccines and hearing / vision tests

Able to pass a military physical for deployment to a State Department declared Contingency or Combat Zone to include having a Body Mass Index (BMI) rating less than 40%.

Desired Skills:

Good written and verbal communication skills.

Knowledge of Military protocol.

US Military technical training and certification as a 94M Sentinel Maintainer.

Military experience is highly desirable, graduate of US Military radar technical school.

Past experience in a combat environment is a plus.

Leadership experience and working with a team to advise and assist in effecting preventative maintenance programs and equipment record keeping.

Required Education:

A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or a Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience. May substitute experience for education.

Requires advanced knowledge of work area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience. May have practical knowledge of project

management. Practical to substantial knowledge of RTX projects, programs or systems with the ability to make enhancements and leverage in daily work.

Typically requires:

A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience

Engineering/Other Technical Positions:

Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.

This position is ERIP eligible.
