Required Experience & Qualifications2-3+ years' experience in professional services (public accounting or advisory firm), preferably at a large, global accounting firm or with a management consulting firm or related corporate experience Finance or accounting background with knowledge of General Ledger and Sub-ledger concepts preferred (e.g., Chart of Accounts, Journal Entries, Intercompany transfers and allocations, AP, AR, trial balance data, General Ledger, Procurement, and Asset Management) Excellent communication skills required - must develop, implement, and maintain sources of project information, communicating appropriate information to client as well as other team members Functional and technical proficiency

TravelA Note on Travel: For the past year+ we have delivered projects remotely with much success, though we do plan to travel again in the near future. We expect travel to be roughly 20-25% (could be more or less) but we'll continue to monitor this area and adapt as needed.

Role Value Proposition:


This role will be a critical part of a newly formed Local Market Finance team within US CFO to better align with the restructured Group Benefits Regional & Small Market organization. This team will partner directly with Sales, Strategy & Underwriting and own accountability for evaluating pricing and other strategies as well as full oversight of strategic execution.


Key Responsibilities:


Facilitate the process for monitoring, reporting and evaluating experience for 2 of the 6 regions within the less than 5,000 lives market. Direct accountability for setting product pricing strategies (new business and renewal) to enable the business to achieve growth and profitability goals. Direct accountability for identification, evaluation, implementation and monitoring of local market initiatives. Collaborate with local market Sales and Underwriting leaders in evaluation of local market experience, identifying local market opportunities and implementing initiatives. Gain deep understanding of local market objectives and external landscape Explain key trends impacting business performance Determine ideal segmentation of business for local market strategy evaluation Measure initiative results, assess and communicate impact Engage with Product Pricing teams to share local market understanding and positively influence manual rate development Partner with Underwriting teams to achieve renewal rate targets and new business margins consistent with strategies



Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:


Required:

5+ years of successful work experience leading a variety of group insurance/employee benefits functional responsibilities such as Product Development/Pricing, Finance, and Underwriting. Advanced analytical skills. High degree of business and financial acumen including actuarial science. Able to foster relationships and operate effectively in a highly matrixed environment and drive sustainable results.


Preferred:

Undergraduate degree, MBA or other advanced degree preferred. FSA certification preferred
