Responsibilities:

* Compile and review mapping and ore routing data with production and modelling geologists to provide quality geologic ore body knowledge to the mine engineering and operational teams
* Production data compilation for stockpile tracking and mined to mill reconciliation for weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports
* Design and assist with delineation drilling programs, track and report weekly/monthly intercepts and progress, and forecast yearly budgets
* Plan and schedule drilling platform inspections with the mine engineering team.
* Validate drilling data; including assay results, downhole survey, geology logging and QAQC and other data collected during drilling
* Supervise geological logging of diamond core and RC chips
* Conduct and train team on digital geological mapping and sampling of active faces and other exposures underground and/or on surface, which may require use of scaling bar and working from extreme platform
* Collect mapping and assay data to create 3D grade control models for comparison on monthly and quarterly basis
* Demonstrate strong safety culture and visible felt leadership with your team and other departments
* Supervise manual belt sampling project and personnel

Qualifications:

* Bachelor of Science in Geology or related field required
* 5+ years experience working as an ore control or drilling geologist required
* Excellent safety record required
* Ability to lead and work within a team environment and possess excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills required
* Familiarity with logging diamond core and RC chips required
* Familiarity with Leapfrog, Deswik, Vulcan, and AcQuire software preferred

Job Duities and Description

+ Under direct supervision, learns the job for the Surface Data Logging (SDL) service line for the purpose of providing on-location geological and drilling data collection and reporting to the customer.

+ Learns the basics of drilling theory and is oriented into the understanding of mud logging techniques and job duties.

+ Gathers drilled cuttings by depth intervals.

+ Responsible for the transportation of these cuttings.

+ Keep records of intervals transported. Keeps work area clean.

+ Will attend training and perform on the job development activities related to learning the basics of mud-logging, data collection and reporting and gas system operations.

+ Attends and completes induction courses as necessary.

+ Completes training appointments as necessary to obtain safety, offshore, or other operations, or customer specific certificates in order to be able to go the designated rig site(s).

Qualifications

+ Skills acquired through the completion of an undergraduate degree in a STEM discipline or Geology.

+ Ability to demonstrate technical aptitude.

+ Must possess good communication skills, arithmetic, data entry and recording skills.

+ Must have successfully passed company tests, or met task guideline requirements.

+ This is an entry level position into the SDL service line for employees who have little to no experience in the petroleum, or related industries.

+ This is a field position.

**Job Description:**

Would you enjoy being involved on a wide variety of general geological and field tasks tasks on complex projects? Parsons is now hiring a Senior Geologist for our rapidly expanding environmental work in Los Angeles, CA

Parsons extensive experience in this field combined with your geological experience and engineering techniques will propel your career forward. We need our Geologists at this level to apply experience and increasing proficiency in the use of geological theories, practices, and company policies. The selected candidate will have performed remedial investigations on large petroleum contaminated properties, former MGP sites, and Superfund sites. In addition to working in the field, you may also assist in preparing proposals and cost estimates and soliciting bids from subcontractors/suppliers. In this role you will independently per form field work and gather data pertinent to the assigned projects; performing soil, surface water, groundwater, and sediment sampling programs; conducting geological, hydrogeologic, and hydrochemistry analyses; overseeing subcontractors in the field; and authoring geologic reports on finished field work.

Responsibilities:

+ Performs independent field work and gathers all types of field data pertinent to the assigned project.

+ Performs geological, hydrogeologic, and hydrochemistry analyses.

+ Develops materials and completes reports on finished field work.

+ Prepares geologic reports with some technical oversight. Prepares and delivers technical papers.

+ Assists in preparation of proposals and cost estimates and in soliciting bids from subcontractors/suppliers.

+ May supervise one or more lower level Geologists or Technicians, including reviewing geologic analyses, assessments, interpretations, and other types of reports.

+ May serve in an advisory capacity to senior management on specific geologyrelated matters.

+ May manage site investigation projects of varying size. Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

+ Caltrans experience is a nice to have

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Geology or related field

5+ years of related work experience

Certification as a professional Geologist is preferred

Proficiency in various computer software applications typically used geological analyses

Familiarity with related environmental rules and regulations is preferred

Requires a demonstrated proficiency in both written and oral communication skills

Thorough understanding of all environmental rules and regulations
