For current JMU undergraduates only. This part-time job working in the advertising department at The Breeze, JMU's student-run news organization, entails using software such as Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator on Mac-based systems to create new advertisements based on the ideas presented by the advertising team and clients, develop interesting and effective advertising campaigns, and electronically place advertisements into pages in coordination with the newspaper's managing editor.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The advertising creative director will also assign tasks to advertising designers, as well as promote communication and conflict resolution among advertising designers. The advertising creative director will be responsible for coordinating schedules for last-minute advertisement creation and placement, and will check over all
camera-ready advertisements for publication. The advertising creative director must also be able to assist in troubleshooting problems in electronic submissions and page layout.
