As Brixton's Art Director, you are responsible for conceptualizing and executing visually compelling marketing campaigns that align with the brand's identity. You will collaborate closely with the marketing, product, and design teams to create innovative and cohesive visuals across multiple platforms. Your role will be pivotal in elevating the brand's global presence, ensuring all creative assets resonate with diverse audiences while driving engagement and sales. Partnering with the Senior Art Director, the role will bring expertise in design skill sets that include creating visual concepts and storytelling, photo and film editing, in the development of stories to communicate ideas that inspire, inform, and engage our consumers.
This is a full-time, exempt role based out of California. This role will be based at our Carlsbad office, with an expectation of being onsite at least three days per week.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Creative Leadership: Partner with the Senior Art Director to lead the ideation, development, strategy and execution of visual concepts for marketing campaigns, product launches, and seasonal promotions across digital, social media, and print.
Brand Consistency: Ensure all creative assets (photoshoots, videos, graphics, etc.) align with the brand's visual identity and marketing objectives while appealing to different regional markets and demographics.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with the marketing, design, and product teams to develop integrated campaigns that are both visually compelling and strategically sound.
Art Direction: Oversee photoshoots and video productions from concept to completion, including developing shoot concepts and mood boards, and directing photographers, stylists, models, and production crews to ensure brand integrity and creative excellence. Asset creation for all marketing channels delivered in final state to leads. Also work closely with production to indicate photographers, videographers, music, illustrators and editors to best fit the creative need at hand.
Innovation & Trends: Stay updated on global trends in fashion, design, and marketing and social media to keep the brand's visual language fresh and competitive. Strategize potential brand partners including models, musicians, artists, locations, etc. that grow the brand's network and reach.
Mentorship: Guide and mentor junior creatives and designers within the team, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
5+ years of graphic design experience on an in-house brand team or creative agency.
Experienced in coordinating multiple projects while effectively managing associated teams.
Exceptional working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite / Figma.
Ability to create photographic, video, and hand-made illustration work.
Not afraid to execute artwork using emerging technologies such as AI
Deep knowledge of graphic design, including typography, and layout.
Fluency in current advertising, design, and fashion trends expected.
SALARY RANGE
The base pay for this position is between $80,000 - $90,000. In accordance with applicable state laws, the range provided is Brixton's reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role. The actual amount may be higher or lower, based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and location.
