As a Design Engineer, you will be responsible for creating and refining components or sections of systems, improving product designs, and enhancing manufacturing processes. You will use computer-aided design (CAD) tools such as Inventor, NX, and CATIA to develop and modify designs. This role involves gathering information, conducting studies, performing calculations, and preparing initial layouts and sketches to present design proposals. You will collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, tooling, material, and planning teams to ensure designs meet manufacturing ease, material availability, and contractual specifications. This role excludes tasks primarily related to drafting. Qualifications: Associate's Degree or other 2-year technical degree in a related field and 6 years of relevant experience. Candidates with an ABET-accredited Bachelor's degree will not be considered. An Associate's Degree can be substituted with 2 years of related experience, 4 years of non-related experience, or an Apprentice Certificate/Navy Nuclear Power School graduation.
