- As part of the Group Medicare organization, manages an underwriting team performing renewal underwriting functions. - Anticipates and recognizes matters that materially affect financial results and makes sound, unbiased recommendations. - Will have managerial responsibilities for staff and may support Director as backup.- Leads team to achieve department specific goals through articulation and application of business strategy, initiatives, and underwriting policy.- Manages workflow within unit and directs changing priorities. - Ensures that timely actions and deliverables are met, and team members have the information to do their jobs.- Escalates underwriting exceptions and financial variances to senior management balancing membership, revenue growth and profitability targets.- Articulates company services, product standards, underwriting policies and new initiatives to sales, customers, brokers & consultants. - Leads process improvement initiatives to improve productivity, accuracy, and/or customer service and influences tool development. Takes accountability for driving solutions to completion.- Responsible for manager activities related to staffing, talent management, training and development.- Takes accountability for the team to ensure customer specific documents and deliverables are accurate and support the customers quote/renewal strategy. Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

Minimum: 75,400

Maximum: 158,300

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent- 7-10 years financial underwriting experience with extensive insurance industry knowledge. - Demonstrated leadership that fosters and supports a strong team of individual contributors.- Experience in anticipating customer needs and requirements as well as facilitating and negotiating using tact and diplomacy.- Experience in building strong cross-functional relationships with internal and external constituents.- Demonstrated success in communicating effectively with internal and external constituents.

The Global Client Group (GCG) is Dimensional's distribution arm, comprising sales channels that target a diverse client set. The Client Relationship Group (CRG) encompasses all Analyst, Associate and Senior Associate roles that directly support our client channels. CRG roles provide internal support and servicing for our clients and all external, client-facing Regional Directors across client types.

The Regional Director and Senior Manager role oversees CRG functions in the Austin office. The role focuses on delivering outstanding service to our clients and an exceptional experience for CRG team members. The Senior Manager role is heavily involved in client service efforts, hiring decisions, onboarding, training, talent development, manager support, and performance evaluation. This unique leadership position offers the opportunity to collaborate with senior stakeholders across the firm and support the client and employee experience in a meaningful way.

Responsibilities:

* Identify, develop and implement processes or methodologies that improve service to our clients
* Set an example for the team and own communication of new information, processes or updates
* Lead and support managers through all aspects of management responsibilities
* Form strong relationships with managers and CRG team members, use feedback to recommend and implement improved processes and outcomes
* Own headcount planning and partner with recruiting teams when interviewing and hiring for internships, campus hires and experienced CRG positions
* Provide oversight of onboarding and ongoing training efforts for CRG roles across client channels
* Collaborate with leaders across sales, investments and human resources teams to support CRG initiatives, managers and team members

What You'll Do

As a Tax Senior Manager within the Business Tax Services group, you will provide federal tax consulting and compliance services to a diverse client base in various industry sectors. You will work directly with the client, manage the tax engagement team, have access to an elite group of specialists when needed, and be connected to a strong support system from firm leadership to ensure you are set up for success in your role and career.

Responsibilities Will Include:

+ Maintaining and developing strong client relationships on various federal tax consulting/compliance engagements.

+ Advising clients on a variety of tax issues including accounting for income taxes, FTA (periods, methods & credits), tax provisions, tax compliance, business restructuring, and tax controversy.

+ Overseeing complex federal tax compliance and consulting projects requiring tax analysis for a variety of entities and their affiliates.

+ Managing engagement workflow, engagement team resources, and engagement billing.

+ Providing leadership, counseling, and career guidance for the development and motivation of the engagement team.

Qualifications

Required

+ Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field

+ 8+ years' experience in federal tax compliance, federal tax accounting and provisions, tax analysis, and tax research

+ One of the following accreditations obtained:

+ Licensed CPA in state of practice/primary office if eligible to sit for the CPA

+ If not CPA eligible:

+ Licensed attorney

+ Enrolled Agent

+ Strong management experience

+ Ability to travel 25%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve

+ Limited immigration sponsorship may be available

Preferred

+ Advanced degree such as Masters of Tax, JD, and/or LLM

+ Experience working in a virtual and/or global environment

+ Passion for leveraging technology and exploring new technology solutions

+ Solid understanding with accounting for income taxes in accordance to ASC740
