Primary Responsibilities Companionship and conversation Personal Care (assisting with bathing, grooming, dressing, bathroom needs, feeding) Light Housekeeping/Household Management (incl. laundry and linen changing) Apparel selection (i.e. laying out clothes) Meal planning and preparation Medication reminders Mobility support (standby assist, transfer, hoyer lift) Transportation using own or clients vehicle Helping family members learn safe care techniques Tolerance to small pets (i.e. dogs and/or cats) Qualifications Ability to treat clients with dignity and respect Ability to read, write, and speak English at an average adult level and interpret the Plan of Care Document provided by Senior Helpers Spanish speakers welcomed; se habla Espaol Ability to drive is preferred Ability to use public transportation to get to work Valid US issued drivers license with no serious driving violations Ability to be flexible and adapt to new situations Pass a criminal background check prior to employment with Senior Helpers Prior experience with dementia patients and senior care, a plus, but not required Must be able to be reached via phone oremail for shift schedules, client updates and/or emergencies Competitive pay Minimum shifts are 4 hours ***Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment drug screening. Testing includes, but is not limited to, amphetamines, methamphetamines, cocaine, opiates (including morphine), and benzodiazepines. Applicants with valid prescriptions may disclose them to the testing provider.***
