Act as technical expert on a selection of incoming projects, development requests, improvement opportunities; including ultimate responsibility for process control, pool management, change management coordination, and customer liaison. Act as a technical leader of the virtual desktop platform section of the End User Compute team, including ultimate responsibility for the troubleshooting, design quality, desktop performance, implementation processes, VM resource management, application virtualization, and dynamic environment manager for profile persistence. Design VDI Solutions such as Citrix VDI or VMWare Horizon View environment. Responsible for front-end EUC environment, tasks include profiling, persisting data, designing tasks related to the EUC platform. Work on packaging enterprise healthcare applications with VMware AppVolumes. Manage a selection of use-cases categorized in individualized global entitlements hosted on a pod architected virtual desktop environment. Responsible for assisting the Virtual desktop platform architect in managing the resourcing and performance of the environment. Research and development of innovative means of improving the efficiency and productivity of the customers through user experience improvements.
Job Requirements:

* Bachelor's Degree in Computer Information Systems, Electronic Engineering or Computer Science (foreign equivalent accepted);
* Requires any VDI Certified professional;
* 48 months experience VMware Vsphere management, implementation and troubleshooting;
* 24 Months experience designing and building in a VMware Horizon Environment;
* 12 months experience using VMware DEM, AppVolumes, and Imprivata, including implementation management and trouble shooting
* 48 Months or more experience as an Information Systems Engineer
* Any suitable combination of experience of education, training, or experience is acceptable*

**SAIC seeks a qualified Scientific Systems Engineer for one of our programs supporting the FDA. SAIC supports the FDA and their scientists in Scientific Computing which includes but is not limited to; technical and research aspects (e.g., hardware, software, desktop support, infrastructure, virtualization all in a laboratory environment) supporting a variety of FDA Centers. This position will support CBER in Silver Springs, MD.**

**The IT Systems Engineer will be required to provide technical support for Windows and Mac OS X workstations in the FDA laboratory and office environment. He/she shall have expertise in setup, configuration, management and administration of Windows and OS X Scientific Workstations and integrating them with Active Directory/etc, to include network adapters and network routers.**
**Qualifications**

+ **BS/MS in a scientific or technical discipline - (chemistry, physics), engineering (any), information systems, computer science, or a related field. We may accept an additional 4 years of experience in lieu of a Bachelors degree.**

+ **2+ years of relevant experience in scientific Computing support in the following related areas:**

+ **Proficient in setup, configuration and administration of Windows 7&10, and MacOS X scientific computers**

+ **Active Directory**

+ **Windows Server Update Service**

+ **Installing and configuring workstation security services**

+ **Troubleshooting lab instrumentation systems and software**

+ **Effective oral and written communication skills for documenting process and procedures and briefing reports required**

+ **Must have demonstrated experience interfacing with highly technical customer base (scientists, researchers and physicians)**

+ **Position requires either an active FDA Public Trust clearance or the ability to obtain prior to start**

Position Responsibilities:

• Provide log analysis, malware triage and forensics on a wide array of technologies to include host, network device, medical device, IoT and mobile devices to support incident response activities.
• Utilize various open source and proprietary technologies to conduct organization wide investigations and examine endpoint and network-based sources of evidence, to include medical devices.
• Recognize and codify attacker tools, tactics, and procedures in determining indicators of compromise (IOCs) applied to current and future investigations.
• Build scripts, tools, or methodologies to enhance incident investigation processes.
• Make recommendations to ensure detective and response capabilities are adequate and provide appropriate use-cases.
• Develop comprehensive, accurate reports and presentations for both technical and non-technical audiences pertaining to investigations.
• Effectively communicate investigative findings and strategy to client stakeholders including technical staff, executive leadership, and legal counsel.
• Work with various teams to implement remediation plans in response to incidents.
• Assist with scoping prospective engagements, participating in investigations from kickoff through remediation, and mentoring less experienced staff.
• Assess the IT infrastructure and able to detect critical deficiencies, and recommend solutions for improvements or additional mitigation controls.
• Provide cybersecurity design recommendations and assist in managing security implementations for various products and technologies.
• Serve as a cybersecurity subject matter expert for various projects.

Position Qualifications Include:

• Bachelors' Degree in a STEM field.
• At least 4 years of Experience in a Security Engineer/Information Security/Vulnerability Management role.
• Extensive experience in information security and/or IT risk management with a focus on security, performance and reliability.
• Experience conducing Digital forensic with tools such as Encase, X-Rays, FTK, SIFT, etc.
• Experienced analyzing log data and be able to correlate data to ascertain activity.
• Experienced using SIEM and capable of performing threat hunting with SIEM and performing OSIT.
• Experienced in conducting malware analysis.
• Understanding of the MITRE ATT&CK framework and working knowledge of the cyber kill chain
• Knowledgeable on NIST CSF, NIST 800 series and ITIL process management.
• In depth understanding of common attack patterns and how systems can become compromised
• In depth understanding of CSIRT processes and general conception of levering SIEMs to perform investigative activities.
• Understanding of cyber risk reduction and implementation of technology, processes, governance, organizational mechanics across the spectrum of cyber landscape.
• Solid understanding of security protocols, infrastructure, and real-life operational constraints
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience multi-tasking, prioritizing and working independently or within a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• ISC2, SANS, and/or ISACA Certifications.
• Vendor specific certifications attesting to security expertise in vulnerability management.
