Job Summary
The State of South Carolina is seeking an experienced SAP Project Implementation Manager/Specialist to support statewide ERP initiatives within the South Carolina Enterprise Information System (SCEIS). This role focuses heavily on SAP Finance and Treasury modules and will oversee critical SAP implementation projects related to the migration of the SC Department of Transportation (DOT) legacy ENTIRE system into the SCEIS platform.
This position requires strong SAP project management expertise, experience leading implementation efforts, and the ability to collaborate with functional, technical, and executive teams.
Daily Duties & Responsibilities
Work with the SCEIS Director, Enterprise Project Manager, and functional team leads to develop and maintain project plans supporting SC DOT and State Treasurer's Office initiatives.
Collaborate closely with Finance and Treasury Team Leads to coordinate project timelines, resource allocation, and integration efforts.
Provide overall coordination, stability, and status reporting across assigned projects.
Manage communication between all affected enterprise areas regarding scope, budget, risk, and resource requirements.
Identify and escalate risks, issues, and potential impacts to project milestones and deadlines.
Report system development or implementation issues that could affect timelines, staffing, or cost.
Manage project closure, including documentation of lessons learned and archival of project artifacts.
Recommend best practices for project and portfolio management, specifically related to Treasury and FI projects.

The role of the Business Systems Consulting (BSC) Senior Manager is to assist clients with their business systems, including people, daily processes and technology. The BSC Senior Manager is responsible for helping clients evaluate and improve the design and function of their business systems technology stack and look beyond the programs and applications to dig deeper and uncover any disconnects and deficiencies among these three core elements. The BSC Senior Manager will then design strategies to maximize the company's current technology and identify more appropriate solutions, correct process efficiencies and place individuals where they can make the greatest possible impact within their organization.
This is a leadership role for the Digital Business Systems Consulting Group. Excellent leadership, business development, and communication skills are crucial for this role.
Responsibilities
* Meet with clients to assess current business systems (people, processes and technology)
* Prepare key findings and analysis reports on client systems
* Quickly learn ERP systems and third party applications, and be able to assist clients with system implementation and restructure projects
* Oversee extensive transactional flow analysis to assist in correcting errors found and complex reporting requirements setup
* Formulate plan and timeline for projects
* Manage complex ERP and restructuring implementation projects
* Convert records for input into new systems
* Consult with clients on best practices related to their business processes
* Review work performed by staff and provide sign off on projects
* Attend client and networking functions

Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Accounting, Business Management, Information Systems or related field

* Strong accounting knowledge: proficiency with financial statements, inventory processes, and general ledger accounting

Responsibilities
Lead the end-to-end ERP implementation, from requirements gathering through go-live and hyper care, with demonstrated ability to explain implementation methodology, phases, and critical success factors to executive stakeholders
Design and implement enterprise integration architecture, including API strategy, middleware selection, data flow orchestration, and real-time/batch integration patterns between business systems and the NOS/Palantir environment
Establish business system automation framework, identifying automation opportunities, designing workflows, and implementing RPA/iPaaS solutions to eliminate manual processes across Finance, HR, and Legal functions
Architect data governance and security frameworks ensuring data sovereignty compliance, implementing role-based access controls, data classification standards, and encryption protocols across all business systems
Partner with Finance, HR, and Legal to translate complex business requirements into technical specifications, system configurations, and sustainable operational models
Manage the full technology stack including database administration, performance tuning, backup/recovery strategies, and high availability configurations for critical business systems
Drive vendor management and SaaS governance, ensuring contract compliance, SLA performance, and security standards adherence
Experience - required
10+ years in enterprise applications with at least 5 years leading ERP implementations

Estimated Starting Salary Range
The estimated starting salary range for this role is $150,000 - $173,000 annually less applicable withholdings and deductions, paid on a bi-weekly basis.
