Senior infrastructure architect job description

Insight Enterprises is seeking a Sr. Infrastructure Architect to be responsible for design, development, and implementation of enterprise Linux Systems and infrastructure. This position will recommend and oversee approved projects that expand, change, or improve Linux systems and related infrastructure. This role will support cross-departmental collaboration and internal communications with staff throughout the organization, as well as promoting a positive work environment that supports consistency and drives efficiency throughout the organization. The position is responsible for creating detailed solution designs and documentation that supports the development, implementation and operations of enterprise-class systems used globally across ship and shore locations. As well, this position will be responsible for all critical support as required in working with 3rd party managed service providers.

Required Years and Area of Professional Experience:


5-7 years RedHat Linux OS experience, experience with VmWare, RedHat Satellite, RedHat Ansible Tower, physical server experience (DELL HW), excellent scripting skills, familiarity with container technologies such as Docker, OCP, Tanzu etc.


Critical Professional Related Technical/Computer Skills:
Excellent documentation skills, ITIL, ITSM excellent communication and written skills

Other Requirements:
Windows server, YAML, power shell familiarity with enterprise storage technologies,

• You will provide leadership in designing and implementing distributed system infrastructure that is highly available, secure, and scalable to support Omniverse users and developers.
• Own and ensure that internal and external SLAs are met and go above and beyond

What we need to see:

• Experience in cloud-native application scaling

• Familiar with large-scale distributed systems analysis, monitoring, and troubleshooting
• Proficiency in at least one programming language, e.g., Golang, Python, Rust, Java, C/C++, with a deep understanding of software design

Senior Infrastructure Architect

CFC has a need for a Senior Infrastructure Architect within the Business Technology Services group. In this position you will be accountable for the design, installation, operations and maintenance of critical systems infrastructure. This role is also responsible for leading large scale, multi-data center infrastructure projects. Leadership and development of engineering staff is also required in this role.

As a Senior Infrastructure Architect, you will:
•Lead the development of architecture solutions and technology strategy to advance our support of the CFC business and member partners.
•Lead the design, implementation and maintenance of complex, multi-data center network, server and storage infrastructure.
•Responsible for the design and implementation of security monitoring and protection technologies.
•Establish and document standards and procedures.

To be successful, you will need:
•Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, related field or equivalent work experience required, advanced degree preferred.
•5-7 years' experience preferred in systems engineering. Experience must include VMWare VCenter, LINUX, and/or EMC SRDF Metro technologies.
•3+ years of technology team leadership experience (formal or informal).
•Experience developing strategic plans and successfully implementing new technology solutions.
•Experience in design, implementation and support of multi-data center high availability operations and infrastructure.
•Experience with Microsoft 365, MS SQL, Adobe AEM and WebLogic is desired.
•Experience with public cloud migration is desired.
•Experience developing technology strategies and architecting resilient solutions.
•Proven engineering ability working across multiple technologies including:CISCO network engineering, Palo Alto firewalls, EMC storage, VMWare server virtualization and high-availability solutions, and Windows/LINUX servers.
•Expert ability to plan and lead large scale infrastructure projects.
•Engineering team leadership skills.
