About the team:

We are looking for an experienced Senior iOS Developer to join our distributed Native team and be responsible for the design, development and production of our native app, used by 100,000 attendees across our three global events.

At Web Summit we believe that the power of data and engineering can be applied to every facet of our events to make the attendee experience excellent, so whatever projects you work on you'll work closely with our UX engineers, data scientists, event engineers and web developers across all our conferences: Web Summit in Lisbon, RISE in Asia and Collision in Toronto.
What you'll achieve at Web Summit:You'll architect and design one of our most important conference tools, used by 100,000 attendees.You'll create a polished UI and fantastic user experience for all attendees.You'll craft an integrated web, mobile and real-world experience.You'll be responsible for coordinating with a team of engineers to build out this app.You'll work with cross-functional teams, including Data Science, to maximise user and attendee experiences.You'll attend our conferences, constantly evaluating where the app can be improved and developed.

Skills and abilities we're looking for:Examples/portfolio of apps you have released on the App store Excellent design pattern know-how. Experience working with Swift, Fastlane and Firebase product suite Strong knowledge of TDD, Unit Testing, CI/CDGraphQL, Github actions, Branch.io and realm experience would be a big plus Strong analytical and debugging skills.Excellent communication skills required, working closely with the mobile team, and internal stakeholders.

PURPOSE:
The Senior iOS Engineer contributes to design, development and deployment of Caterpillar's state -ofthe-art digital platform. This position will help build various customer facing mobile apps, including the Cat App, Caterpillar's mobile telematics solution, among others. Customers use our mobile solutions to buy parts and services, track the location and health of equipment, and activate telematics devices directly from their mobile device.

JOB DUTIES:
Responsibilities of the Senior iOS Engineer are across functional lines with individuals assigned in new program development and/or maintenance of various mobile apps. Competent to perform all programming, project management, and development assignments without close supervision; normally assigned the more complex aspects of systems work. Works directly on complex application/technical problem identification and resolution, including responding to off-shift and weekend support calls. Works independently on complex systems or infrastructure components that may be used by one or more applications or systems. Caterpillar: Confidential Green Drives application development focused around delivering business valuable features Mentor and assist software engineers, providing technical assistance and direction as needed Maintains high standards of software quality within the team by establishing good practices and habits Identifies and encourage areas for growth and improvement within the team Guide the team to develop a structured application/interface code, new program documentation, operations documentation and user guides in a casual, flexible environment Communicate with end users and internal customers to help direct development, debugging, and testing of application software for accuracy, integrity, interoperability, and completeness Performs integrated testing and customer acceptance testing of components that requires careful planning and execution to ensure timely, quality results. Employee is also responsible for performing other job duties as assigned by Caterpillar management from time to time. The position manages the completion of its own work assignments and coordinates work with others. Based on past experiences and knowledge, the Senior iOS Engineer normally works independently with minimal management input and review of end results

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field Proven experience as an app developer 3-5+ years developing native iOS mobile applications in Swift Proven experience with React Native or Flutter Proficient using Git Proficient with communicating via REST APIs Familiarity with push notifications, and cloud messaging

Job Summary
As a Senior iOS Mobile Developer, you will work on a project-by-project basis with other engineers, web developers, and business and marketing team members to create an intuitive experience for mobile users. This includes creating, extending and improving native mobile applications for iOS and potentially other mobile platforms; leveraging an internal web service framework; building solutions; and maintaining existing applications, all in a high-energy environment.

Responsibilities
Build great mobile apps by working with other engineers, developers, architects, quality assurance specialists, system engineers and project managers to solve new and existing technical challenges Understand requirements, implement solutions and provide administration tools and documentation for specific projects Follow and enhance existing development processes Measure and verify that new and old code has acceptable performance and scalability Deliver accurate estimates, provide regular feedback and consistently meet project deadlines Mentor other mobile software engineers by teaching mobile coding techniques, assisting with debugging issues and testing, and explaining what issues could lurk within high-level designs Develop and/or perform software automated testing procedures, solutions and frameworks to ensure mobile apps function as needed Translate business requirements and specifications into usable app features Understand and assist with the technical infrastructure of multiple applications and services Troubleshoot performance issues Lead design and code reviews Determine, execute and help in continuous improvements to app deployment processes Anticipate and communicate blockers, delays and cost ballooning within the team's projects before they require escalation Ensure expectations with the team and external stakeholders are clarified between all parties involved Be aware of and support best practices from a security perspective Participate in discussions about the team's future vision and strategy
