SummaryThe Senior Manager Logistics provides leadership for the Distribution Center and supervisors, who are directly responsible for turn key warehousing and transportation solutions. The incumbent will have and maintain high level interface directly with the customer on a regular basis.Essential Functions
Interface directly with the customer to ensure issues are resolved in a timely manner while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.Strategic operational planning and execution for the operation.Identify and/or solve operational issues with the account(s) by implementing continuous improvement and LEAN initiatives, to strengthen team unity, goals, productivity and results.Hire, supervise, develop and manage performance for employees and maintain a positive employee relations environment at assigned account(s).Maintain open and effective communications within the work group(s) and with other work groups within the organization. Review data, identify and implement necessary actions as required.May manage the profit and loss statements based on the complexity and scope of the organization.Lead a proactive safety program within the work group(s) consistent with company policy in order to provide a safe and secure work environment. Instruct and enforce location safety management plans, training and processes. Monitor the maintenance of equipment for assigned work group(s) by using checklists and observations as required.
Additional Responsibilities
Performs other duties as assigned.Limited travel to Ryder locations during first few months of hire for operational support

H.S. diploma/GED required Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain preferred Master's degree in Business, Logistics, Transportation or related field preferred Five (5) years or more relevant experience in supply chain, logistics, warehouse or industry related field required Five (5) years or more managing, leading and developing direct reports required Three (3) years or more Profit & Loss responsibility preferred One (1) year or more customer interaction preferred

Reporting to the Senior Director, Global Distribution and Logistics, the Senior Manager, Global Logistics is a key role in the supply chain organization and one that sets out the vision for the global transportation function, the strategy for achieving the vision and accountability for ensuring its delivery. This role will operate with both direct and indirect reporting relationships with regional and/or local logistics operations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and DELIVARABLESEstablish and oversee the transportation strategy and best practices for global logistics processes that enables the physical distribution of products as well as the administrative control and information flow. Own and lead the innovation and continuous improvement agenda for global transportation including digital initiatives Ensure we meet or exceed our customer transportation service requirements while ensuring cost is considered. Facilitate an environment for the identification of best practices for transportation execution that may be standardized at a global level and applied at a regional level for the physical distribution of products encompassing warehousing and local distribution Senior sponsor for partnerships and sourcing programs with global 3PLs that can be used by the business to deliver outsourced services for warehousing, transport and international logistics. Work with external advisers and internal senior owners of global trade compliance to ensure ongoing governance Represent and contribute on behalf of the logistics function when the organization engages in strategic projects, business ventures or seeks to expand into emerging and new markets as well as key initiatives surrounding EH&S, and CSR Represent and contribute on behalf of the global logistics function when the organization seeks to rationalize, review or invest in technology platforms that affect the logistics organization directly or indirectly Set out a succession and development plan for the transportation management organization that encourages investment in skills, the evolution of capabilities and harvesting of the right competencies and talent for the function Define the global governance process for transportation strategy that is aligned with the overall supply chain strategy. Set out and ensure the function exceeds key operational, service, financial and compliance metrics Create and manage the global transportation function center of excellence (COE) for the Company, including the availability of analyst and support resources, transportation expenditure and budget allocation, both globally and within region Owns and is accountable for total global transportation budget Oversee the deployment of reliable and efficient supply routes for opportunities in new territories or new business ventures

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLSAbility to articulate the vision and roadmap for logistics development, including prioritization of tasks and allocation of resources, including de-prioritization of activities that are not aligned with the vision Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills in order to communicate effectively across all levels within the organization and multiple cultures. Proficiency in MS Office is required Excellent knowledge of the distribution and logistics environment, encompassing global trade compliance, and international logistics Excellent knowledge of the end-to-end supply chain, with a clarity for understanding the importance and interdependencies associated with each stage of the process - Plan, Source, Make, Deliver Preparation and ownership of a global transportation budget. Prior successful negotiation of transportation pricing and service agreements.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCEBachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, or related discipline or equivalent experience required; Master's degree preferred 10 to 15 years of regional or global operational logistics leadership experience managing multisite and global logistics network 10+ years of experience running a complex, multi-modal transportation network serving both domestic and export markets, including express parcel and cold chain transportation

What We Are Looking For

The Senior Manager, Global Logistics will provide leadership and direction to design and implement a global logistics footprint that provides world class service to our customers through logistical capabilities that provide secure, safe, honest, reliable, responsive delivery of solutions to the geographic markets we serve, within authorized budgeted / investment levels, with a dynamic optimization / re-evaluation element that is able to respond to an evolving global economy.

What You Will Do
Create and implement processes, systems and solutions that contract and manage transportation carriers globally, model Panduit sales volumes to optimize transportation, importation & warehousing, enable shipment tracking and tracing and monitor customs, global security policies and trade agreements Expand the global supply chain footprint into new and existing emerging markets by designing an optimal supply chain that can meet the company's expected service level, growth rate, cost structure and risk tolerance, including: analysis of the flow (volumes) of Panduit goods within the market, identification of local key attributes associated with supply chain execution: transportation capabilities, duties, customs practices, warehousing services, assessment of uncertainties, risks and mitigation strategies across the supply chain, determination of the type and location of supply chain assets, business case development for supply chain investment and ROIImplement supply chain projects, following a structured project management approach to achieve project scope, schedule and cost parameters. Include early supply chain execution monitoring to validate service levels and cost targets are achieved.For existing supply chain designs / markets, optimize the supply chain to meet the company's expected service level, growth rate, cost structure and risk tolerance through optimization of: shipping volumes, distribution locations, channel routing, transportation supplier & service level, Utilization of Trade agreements and duty rates and drawback Design global intercompany replenishment channels that interconnect manufacturing output to all global markets, including: analysis of the flow (volumes) of Panduit goods within replenishment channels, identification of global origin/destination transportation network routes, trade agreements and transportation providers, assessment of uncertainties, risks and mitigation strategies across the supply chain, determination of the routes and frequency of movement of goods between assets/ markets.Respond to changes in the global risk factors, volume of goods, regulations, duties, costs, trade agreements by optimizing the global supply chain design to achieve service level, cost and operational execution measures. Accomplish this optimization at the country, region and global levels.
