Sr Manager leads one or more of the technical infrastructure teams; System Administrators, Database Administrators, Middleware Engineers. The Senior Manager provides leadership for a team of 2 - 10 engineers responsible for supporting the Unix Administration/all operational processes for patching, security, and technology refresh.

Reporting to Director of Midrange Delivery, this position leads one or more of the technical infrastructure teams; System Administrators, Database Administrators, Middleware Engineers. The Senior Manager provides leadership for a team of 2 - 10 engineers responsible for supporting the Unix Administration/all operational processes for patching, security, and technology refresh. They will provide oversight of all changes and projects, strategic roadmap initiatives as well as technical currency and modernization initiatives. The candidate will need to have experience with IT management competencies, technical knowledge, operational support best practices, decision making, risk mitigation, internal/external audit, change management, strategic delivery, and motivation of staff. The candidate will have experience in support of hybrid cloud environment, migration of workload to the cloud, and defining new support models for the hybrid cloud environment. The technology platforms supported by this team are as follows: Linux, AIX, OpenShift, Nagios, LDAP, Spectrum Scale, Ansible, AWS EC2, AWS AD, and AWS storage capabilities.

**Job Description**

The Infrastructure Manager is responsible for leading the successful design, implementation and maintenance of infrastructure solutions that meet the requirements of the organization and ensure the most cost-effective approach is taken. This role oversees technical services, including system maintenance and performance monitoring in support of the overall IT service offering. Moreover, the role collaborates with other team members and across teams in developing and defining policies and strategies for integration across IT.

**Job Duties**

Infrastructure Engineering

* Lead the design, installation/development and sourcing of the infrastructure, ensuring alignment with the architectural vision.

* Apply deep domain expertise to ensure that the infrastructure is in a correct and understood state.

* Oversee the performing and monitoring of technical checks, analyzing errors and tracking solutions of errors, planning and performing upgrade and installations tests for assembly and validation.

* Be responsible for the overall quality of service delivered to internal users and clients and work closely with the Service Operations Manager in continuing improvement of processes

* Contribute to the planning of the overall infrastructure vision and coordinate information technology planning and execution for underpinning IT infrastructure solutions in the respective domain and/or region.

* Develop and own the roadmap for the development and evolution of the infrastructure that is appropriate for current needs as well as for future scalability.

Operations and Maintenance

* Oversee the planning and supporting for ongoing maintenance of IT infrastructure, ensuring minimized down time and all house-keeping jobs are executed effectively.

* Lead the scheduling of support backups and restoration of systems, and plan and test disaster recovery for the infrastructure.

* Lead the development of methodologies and practices to manage and plan capacity based on projected growth rate to ensure performance remains at acceptable levels.

* Provide technical expertise and oversee troubleshooting/problem analysis on IT infrastructure issues.

* Lead the provision of support for the applications and product teams, ensuring timely resolution and minimized impact of critical incidents.

**Job Requirements**

**REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:**

* Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering or other related field (or equivalent and related experience).

* Minimum 5 years' experience with designing, deploying and managing IT infrastructure.

**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:**

* Good understanding of fundamental computer architecture, networking, virtualization, storage and operating system components.

* Experience with cloud infrastructure desirable.

* Strong experience with IT architecture and the interlinkage with infrastructure needs.

* Demonstrate expertise in a specific domain.

* Demonstrable technical skills.

* Demonstrable business and technology acumen.

Direct Hire opportunity in Atlanta Georgia

+ Onsite in Atlanta - hybrid after 3 months

+ 5 days per week for first 3 months to learn company and direct/indirect reports.

+ After that, 3 days per week onsite, 2 days remote.

+ If critical situations arise, they will need to be onsite maybe for weeks at a time. We cannot promise it's 3/2 hybrid every single week.

Salary Range: $130-155k depending on experience

Responsible for network and hybrid computer infrastructure, consisting of cloud and on premise physical and virtual resources, day-to-day network and server operations, driving infrastructure strategy, and interfacing with all levels of IT and leadership. Recommend alternative technologies or improvements to enhance information systems in support organizational goals, leads the design and review processes for new systems, and documents the proposed technical solutions for the integration and implementation.

**Essential Functions:**

+ Acts as an expert for infrastructure server and Network teams in the plan, design, and delivery of IT solutions.

+ Participates as a subject matter expert (SME) in technical architecture and design review sessions and project presentations.

+ Leads presentations for specific projects or initiatives.

+ Drives short & long term architecture strategy for the overall IT Infrastructure project portfolio for key business segments.

+ Participates in proof of concepts to assist in defining technology direction and enabling business strategy.

+ Leads engineering teams in the product selection and POC process by reviewing current and future capabilities and business needs to ensure we can support the business effectively, completing Proof of Concept implementations, and understanding the total cost of ownership for each tool.

+ Develops enterprise standards to ensure compatibility and integration of multi-vendor platforms.

+ Designs and develops infrastructure blueprints for the implementation of new solutions to optimize high availability, and network/system performance within supported parameters, maximizing the effectiveness of hardware and software resource management.

+ Performs or oversees impact analysis and design modifications to existing systems to support new solutions.

+ Maintains a common documentation library of standardized procedures and configurations.

+ Plans for future use of systems hardware and software, services, technologies, applications, and standards and coordinates installation and implementation of systems hardware and software according to department standards and procedures.

+ Drives documentation of systems architecture, design, change management and ongoing review of system configurations in collaboration with relevant team members.

+ Works as liaison between other department managers and supervisors when coordinating design/build activities for any particular project or solution. Continually evaluates systems and solutions to ensure they maintain the functionality and compliance goals.

+ Provides mentorship and direction through technical subject matter expertise to staff responsible for integration of software and hardware applications.

+ Manages a team of 15+ with 2-4 direct reports.

**Qualifications & Experience:** Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent or equivalent combination of education and experience required

Minimum of 10 years' experience in Information Technology in Infrastructure Administration with networking, database, storage (SAN), Servers, Virtualization, Windows/Linux, Public Cloud, Active Directory, enterprise monitoring tools, back-up strategies, Data Center operations, endpoints, mobile devices, and server technologies is required.

Experience with across multiple technologies, new and legacy

Project management experience

Experience designing, integrating, and managing complex infrastructure solutions with an ability to delivery technical system solutions that meet business needs

Experience with TCP/IP, UDP, DHCP, DNS, MPLS, SONET, DWDM, EIGRP, BGP, HSRP, FTP, SFTP, STP, RSTP, TACACS+, ACS, RADIUS, RSA, SecureID and SNMP monitoring and reporting

Hands on experience with IP subnetting, Telnet/SSH Clients, Raritan or Terminal Server Remote Access, ServiceNow, COS, VoIP and MPLS technologies and Cisco network software (COS/IOS), inventory/maintenance tracking and vendor support case handling; as well as with Cisco routers and Catalyst/Nexus switches, F5 load balancers and Infoblox DHCP/DNS

**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:** • Ability to discuss & understand general infrastructure technologies in depth as well as having multiple specialties that are within the minimum skills for the areas described in Summary.
• Ability to elicit and communicate technical and non-technical information in a clear and concise manner, who excels at solving problems and thinking creatively.
• SME knowledge of Active Directory Domain Services and Group Policy, Microsoft Azure service stack and server platforms (on premise and cloud), VMWare, Citrix XenApp, XenDesktops, backup systems, networks, and storage area networks.
• SME knowledge of Cisco networks and technologies, SD-WAN, Linux and Unix.
• Thorough understanding of security, SOX, and GDPR compliance standards.
• Ability to quickly comprehend the functions and capabilities of new technologies.
• Ability to communicate and have good team building skills. Self-motivator and strong leadership qualities, multitasking and problem resolution.
