Senior Manager Of Marketing job in Boston, MA

About Toast Toast is driven by building the restaurant platform that helps restaurants adapt, take control, and get back to what they do best: building the businesses they love. About this Roll* (Responsibilities) Toast is establishing a Product Analytics & Insights function, and we're looking for a Director to lead its formation and long-term success. This is a foundational leadership role with significant strategic influence and visibility. You will define the vision, build the team, and lead the charge in enabling data-informed product development across the company. You will be responsible for shaping the future of product analytics at Toast-building a self-service insights culture, exploring applications of AI and emerging technologies, and eventually integrating data science capabilities that empowers every product team to make fast, confident, and customer-centric decisions. While you'll oversee adoption of core tools like Amplitude, your north star is broader: enabling an insights ecosystem where data is discoverable, accessible, and actionable. You'll work to remove friction in how product teams access behavioral and sentiment data, define metrics, experiment at scale, and understand user needs across the product lifecycle. This role sits within the Product Operations team at Toast. The Product Operations team is on a mission to empower our Product teams to build great products efficiently, effectively, and at scale. We remove obstacles, foster alignment, and help teams focus on what matters most-solving real problems for our customers. Operating at the intersection of Product, UX, Engineering, Marketing, and Customer Success, we ensure that teams are equipped with the right processes, strategies, and insights to drive meaningful impact. In this role, you will: Define and lead the vision for the Product Analytics & Insights function at Toast, aligning it to company priorities and product strategy. Build a self-service insights culture-enabling product teams to independently explore data, measure impact, and surface insights. Partner with Product and Engineering to embed key metrics into our development lifecycle-from discovery to launch to iteration. Explore and integrate emerging technologies (AI/ML) to drive predictive insights and smarter tracking and experimentation. Oversee the adoption of tools like Amplitude as part of a broader analytics toolkit, focusing on usability, trust, and strategic value. Develop and operationalize standards for instrumentation, event tracking, experimentation, and insight delivery. Act as a trusted advisor and thought partner to Product leaders-supporting them in measurement and growth strategies. Collaborate closely with Data Platform, Business Intelligence, UX Research, and other Analytics teams to create a unified, scalable insights ecosystem. Recruit, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of analysts and data scientists that reflects Toast's values and ambitions. Drive education and enablement efforts to increase data literacy and fluency across the Product org, helping teams use data to drive action. Do you have the right ingredients*? (Requirements) 10+ years of experience in Product Analytics and/or Data Science leadership experience in a high-growth environment. Demonstrated success in building or scaling analytics capabilities, ideally with a strong self-service or enablement component. Deep understanding of product development lifecycles and the role of data in product discovery, delivery, and optimization. Fluency in product analytics platforms (Amplitude, Mixpanel, etc.), data querying languages (SQL, Python, R), and experimentation tools. Experience leveraging or integrating emerging AI technologies to make product analytics easier, faster, or more scalable. Proven ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and align around shared metrics, definitions, and goals. Passion for democratizing data-making it accessible, intuitive, and part of the everyday product decision process. Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with a knack for turning complex data into clear, compelling narratives. Track record of hiring, mentoring, and developing diverse, high-performing teams. A builder's mindset: entrepreneurial, resourceful, and energized by the challenge of starting from scratch. The base salary range for this role is listed below. The starting salary will be determined based on skills and experience.
