The Manufacturing Engineering department is a combination of product design and process improvement. This position will be responsible for creating new part designs to reduce installation time, increase build quality and prevent future warranty claims. We are seeking a skilled Manufacturing Technical Engineer to support a major automotive manufacturing OEM. The successful candidate will collaborate with product design from feasibility through the design phase to achieve products that can be efficiently manufactured within the factory's capabilities. Responsibilities * Conduct feasibility studies on new technologies, design concepts, and equipment. * Review drawings with internal teams and customers to verify design accuracy. * Identify past model problem history, opportunities for cost savings, and safety concerns. * Communicate change points through countermeasure request forms to the R&D Department for improvements in quality, cost, delivery, safety, and assembly. * Develop and present project status updates, change points, and recommendations. * Document trial problems and discuss countermeasures. * Support quality problem resolutions and recommend countermeasures. * Support equipment installation and robot programming. * Assist in build event preparation and execution. The Safety Management Systems (SMS), Global Standardization team is responsible for providing guidance and expertise to the business regarding the four ICAO components of SMS. This role will be based within the Safety Assurance pillar and will work very closely with the Risk Management, Policy and Promotion teams.
