The Raytheon Mechanical Engineering (ME) Organization leads the mechanical hardware design, development and production of radar, sonar, torpedo, and combat system equipment. The Air Defense Ground Equipment (ADGE) Department leads mechanical design, development, and integration of platform systems. This includes launcher systems, shelter systems, missile hardware, hardware integration, cable & interconnections, as well as facility development, and site integration. The ADGE department is looking for a full-time Senior Principal Mechanical Engineer to support Patriot GEM-T Missile major components and sub-assemblies, including obsolescence upgrades, procurement and supplier support located in Tewksbury or Andover, MA (onsite) What You Will Do Key Responsibilities: Lead execution of major programs within the department, including shelter mechanical design, electronic equipment integration, end-item development, vendor coordination, and the integration of power and cooling systems. Support ongoing sustainment of existing product lines. Support and lead cross-functional engineering teams, delivering solutions and services across all phases of the program lifecycle. This may include development of next-generation sensing technologies, enhancements to current products, transition to production, in-field upgrades, and vendor oversight. Lead and contribute to proposal efforts and Estimate at Completion (EAC) activities, providing strategic and technical input. Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) across multiple programs, providing critical and timely support to ensure successful execution and delivery. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Serve as a technical liaison to programs and Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), ensuring alignment across stakeholders. Oversee the technical performance of the design team, providing engineering guidance and project support throughout the entire product lifecycle. Support and lead Technical Data Package (TDP) development and conduct/oversee thorough peer reviews. Demonstrated experience leading engineering teams, with accountability for cost, schedule, and technical performance, along with project management experience in both budgeting and scheduling. Proven ability to work in an Integrated Product Team (IPT) environment, working across multiple engineering disciplines as well as with Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, IPT leadership, Program Management, and customers.
