This Turbine Module internship offers exposure across the full-breadth of rotating and/or static hardware, such as blades, nozzles, and shrouds. This internship will provide ample opportunities to perform design and structural analysis of turbine components for new product introductions (NPI), engine validation, RCA (root cause analysis), and Services support. Interns are paired with more senior members to ensure high-quality mentoring and training. Assignments are flexible and varied, where the assignment leader will work with the intern to “tune” their internship. Day-to-day tasks within the team can include detailed hardware design and ownership, developing tools, modeling in CAD (NX), stress and life analysis in FEA (ANSYS), test data evaluation, product definition, manufacturing and qualification support, and partnering with our Services team to tackle challenging RCAs. Detailed hardware design analysis to include thermal, stress and modal analysis, low and high cycle fatigue, creep, oxidation, fracture mechanics, and advanced analytical FEA methods and design optimization. Application of AI and Machine Learning tools in design and lifing analyses will be in scope.
Project Outcomes:
The outcome of the internship will involve the development and validation of analysis methodologies leveraging state of the art tools and techniques including machine learning, neural network, and other appropriate AI methods. Specific focus areas could include development of advanced creep management techniques for hot gas path blades and 3D fracture assessments in dovetails. The intern will learn turbomachinery components and lifing, and application of advanced modeling tools to predict and manage life of these components operating in extremely harsh environments.

What you will do:
* Contributor working independently and with senior engineers to generate new designs, review internal and external change requests, create redline revisions, and support test and documentation of mechanical hardware and assemblies.

Provide technical support and training of others.

Assist on development projects as requested by supervisor. This may also include completion of standard processes or practices and computer programs.

Your Boarding Pass:
* Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Composites, Materials, Engineering Technology, or other related course of study
* 5-8 Years Experience
* Strong experience in a leadership/management role leading engineers
* Experience in composite fabrication/manufacturing
* Experience working with international internal and external customers
* Lean manufacturing expertise
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience in a manufacturing environment
* Experience in Aerospace Manufacturing
* Excellent Customer Relationship Management Skills
* Demonstrated ability to work with demanding and difficult customers with conflicting priorities within a fast-paced challenging environment
