Establishes and maintains effective liaison with the Honolulu Fire Inspector. Reviews construction plans and proposals by outside agencies to mitigate any conflicts with the existing gas network. Provides consultation and assists in coordination with contractors working near buried gas facilities. Prepares response letters to requests for plan reviews from other utilities, contractors, architects and developers. Assists Manager in maintaining the Tank Management Program (TMP). Perform audits of facilities; process MOC submittals, update drawings and documentation. Assists in the preparation of standards, policies, and procedures to conform with federal and local codes and company standards. Keeps abreast of technological changes and developments in the industry and works with respective departments to implement viable changes. OTHER FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES: Complies with all applicable Hawaii Gas policies and procedures. Maintains assigned work area and equipment in a clean, orderly and safe manner; performs housekeeping duties as required and/or instructed. Works in a safe and responsible manner. Performs all other related duties as instructed by supervisor/manager. Qualifications Required Education and/or Work Experience: Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent combination of related experience and education. Zero (0) to one (1) year of related experience. Good working knowledge of NFPA 58, UFC, City and County Plumbing Codes and 49 CFR 192. Proficient in the MS Office suite of tools (Word and Excel), MS Project. Required Licensure, Certification, Registration or Designation: Valid driver's license. Preferred Education and/or Work Experience: Experience in construction or consulting engineering field. Experience in using Geographic Information System (GIS) and/or CADD. Preferred Licensure, Certification, Registration or Designation: Engineer in Training (EIT) certification Communication/Competency/Skill Requirements: Excellent interpersonal skills and highly team oriented. Strong communication, organization and analytical skills. Impeccable integrity and be disposed to handling sensitive/confidential information. Excellent written and oral skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the company. Flexible and adaptable to changes within the position/department/company. Able to steward themselves in a professional and courteous manner to promote a harmonious working environment. Able to communicate professionally, courteously, and effectively utilizing standards means of communication within the workplace (i.e., verbal, written, e-mail, phone, text, etc.). Working Conditions/Environment: Working conditions are normal for an office environment. Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work.
