Job Description
Design Engineer
The primary responsibility of these positions is to provide technical support for all components brands, including but not limited to structural calculations, load table evaluations, assembly recommendations, etc.. These positions require strong technical ability to design architectural metal components products and pre-engineered metal buildings. All positions require a bachelor's degree in architectural or civil engineering with a structural focus.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES
* Provide neat, accurate, easy-to-follow designs that meet code requirements, supply chain restraints and system deadlines that result in least-cost systems that meet the customer's needs and company procedures.
* Maintain the required schedule that often has late-addition requirements or changes in priority.
* Communicate needs and difficulties to all members of the team to assure quick disposition of problems.
* Continually improve productivity, accuracy, skills, and ability.
* Continually expand engineering knowledge so that a Professional Engineering License can be obtained, maintained, and increased in state representation.
* Protect the public by employing sound engineering judgement without being overly conservative in the approach.
* Understand the role in all business processes and be willing to step outside that role when required.
Qualifications
Design Engineer I
* Aptitude for developing engineering skills and technical knowledge to ensure that work and support are performed in the most productive manner without the loss of accuracy or completeness.
* Ability to learn Cornerstone Engineering's panel offerings, component design standards, and all design software utilized by the company.
* Capacity for learning all components offerings, associated testing standards, and cold-formed framing design.
* Be able to implement and comply with industry standards.
EDUCATION/ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
* Entry level, no prior experience in metal buildings.
* EIT certificate recommended
Design Engineer II
* Ability to perform with minimal supervision his/her own projects to ensure on-time completion.
* Possess the aptitude to expand personal knowledge of the Cornerstone Engineering panel offerings and components design standards.
* Capable of evaluating and utilizing the correct design software required per the design requirements.
* Able to learn Cornerstone Engineering's buildings design standards and the entirety of the building design software utilized by the company.

* Execute designs with continuous productivity improvements without loss of accuracy or completeness, reduction of manufacturing and drafting costs, and increased ease of erection and customer value.
* Ability to supply components technical support and manage projects beyond the design phase through project completion.
* Ability to manage several overlapping projects.
* Assist in engineering fixes for problems during the presale, clarification, and building construction phase.
* Check the work of and mentor Engineers I & II employees.
EDUCATION/ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Position Summary
As our Project Engineer, you will provide critical support to the project team in scheduling, documentation, quality assurance, safety, and coordination. Working primarily on-site, you'll collaborate with the Project Manager, Assistant Project Manager, and Superintendent to ensure seamless project execution from start-up to closeout. Document key discussions, decisions, and follow-ups to ensure alignment across the team.
Safety and Quality Support

On-Site Support
